Duke University ABSN Fall 2013

Hey everyone! I submitted my application to Duke University's ABSN program for fall 2013 a few weeks ago, so I wanted to get some conversation started! Is anyone else applying?!

The website said that they usually make decisions for fall term in February. I have not spoken to anyone at Admissions though!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I am wondering - when they have received everything, does the status on the application website change from "submitted" to "complete/incomplete"...or does it just say "submitted" if they have everything? My recommendations have been submitted and I called a couple of weeks ago and they had all of my transcripts...so I just want to make sure I'm not missing something! :)

MrsBaze, my submission status says Submitted, but my application status says Completed. The second status did not say that until they had all my supplementary materials.

Hello, all!

I am applying to the program at Duke too. Do you all have substantial work experience, or are you recent grads? Does anyone have a clue what a typical admitted applicant looks like on paper? I'm also a guy, and really interested if there are many other guys applying. Thanks!

tribe12, you could check previous duke threads for stats of accepted students. I think it really varies. They like to look at people holistically.

But applications are due tomorrow! I turned mine in months ago so it feels like I've been waiting for forever!

Hey everyone! Does anyone else's application still say incomplete due to gre scores? I did not submit scores because of the gre waiver but it is making me nervous since the deadline has passed!

I think people at admissions are still reviewing the application. They will update and change it to "completed" after they finish reviewing, so don't worry. I hope we hear back soon. The interview process seems intense, so it makes me nervous!

Hey guys, don't be nervous about the GRE score thing. I called awhile back and they told me to not worry about it and they know whether you need it or not but it will say that for awhile. I'm sure that they will contact you if it is missing and they need it from you. Mine still says "official test scores have not been received", so don't worry - and I have WELL over a 3.4! It's going to be fine. You can call them and ask if it makes you feel better! As long as everything else has been received I'm sure that it is fine. :)

Received an e-mail from my admissions officer today. The e-mail stated that my application had been reviewed and is complete. Applications will be sent out for faculty review after the new year. Tentative dates for ABSN interviews are Feb. 22, 25, and March 1, 2013.

That is so weird. I heard the tentative dates as Feb 22, March 1 and March 4. Hmm. I guess I'll aim for Feb 22 or March 1st just to be sure.
