  1. I am a 2015 graduate of the CNL program. Let me know if you have any questions! Best of luck with the application, the interviews, and the long dreaded wait!
  2. I am shocked by how late they are interviewing this year! I already knew I was accepted by this point! Best of luck to all the people interviewing!!
  3. I graduated from the program in 2015! I can also help with any questions and ease that anxiety as you wait for an interview:) Good luck!!
  4. I have a lot of friends who work in the MICU at UVA if you want me to connect you to them!
  5. I work on the unit that you are starting on!! Where are you moving from? Let me know how I can help transition and if you want any information about the unit!~ Excited to have you as part of the team. It is a great unit!
  6. The intention of my post was to seek suggestions for questions, not to defend my project. I am very sorry you were bullied.
  7. So I am a new nurse and I am partnered with another new RN but 5 year veteran as a tech. I am really just looking for tips for questions. I appreciate your response. In nursing school I was asked to do a survey monkey for the ER nurse's to address why people on the unit were so unhappy and people were brutally honest, almost to honest, however the managers created the questions and ultimately the answers all pointed to management so my peer and I switched directions. So I know it's possible to get people to talk, will everyone talk, no, and that's ok.
  8. Survey monkey is anonymous.. While this may be true about honesty but I am also going to have to do something to solicit answers. People talk about it all the time already that I want to believe they will have no problem answering questions
  9. I am doing a project with another nurse on addressing horizontal violence among colleagues from PCTs, PCAs, doctors, HUCs, etc. and I have found some really great articles to address this but I am lacking how to formulate a great survey that would facilitate honest responses from my unit. Can you all suggest some good questions that would get the most information out of people, of course, its anonymous. The generic definition of horizontal violence is negative interactions/behaviors between your colleagues. Thanks so much!!
  10. Uworld and 1000s of questions and sounds like you may need to review content
  11. I echo all of this. Congratulations. I assume they take people off wait list per a professor I spoke with just 2 days ago who is an active participant in the selection process, so do not give up hope. Yes, make a Facebook group, it will ease your mind and all your questions will get answered by the class above you. As for the stats questions, I went to UVA undergrad with a 3.9 GPA. No gre scores because my GPA sufficed. I took all pre reqs at piedmont community college, I got A's in all of them (i heard As in A&p) were pretty important per the admissions counselor before the one they have now. I had zero healthcare experience. However, I volunteered locally at the homeless shelter, in the PICU, and emergency department at UVA For a year to be sure this was a path I could see myself on. My class had all walks of life, some had been out of school for years and were making a total career change. I think they really look holistically at every candidate. I urge the ones that didn't get in to seek out answers to make yourself a more desirable candidate for next year. If UVA is your passion, do not give up! As for wait listed, I have no idea if anyone from my class came off the waitlist. It was never discussed. Actually it never really crossed my mind that someone could of been off the waitlist. We were all just so thankful to be in the program. Congrats to everyone wait listed, accepted, and to those not in. Don't. Give up on your dream.
  12. I second what she said about being wait listed. I was wait listed for the ACNP program (not surprised since I have been a nurse for 5 months, can't believe I even got an interview) and when I went to chat with an old professor she told me they do take people off wait list for the CNL program and she was pretty sure for ACNP to! So if you are wait listed, don't fret!! I bet you all got in anyways!! :)
  13. good luck to you all!! Is today the big day?
  14. Ok thanks. Yeah all his email said for my program was we would know at end of week. I assume they are posting ours at the same time as yours. Ugh the wait. Good luck to all of you. The CNL program changed my life for the better :)
  15. Does your program not do nclex style test? Mine did so I was always exposed. I used uworld a month before nclex but honestly it is never to early to start. Exposure to as many questions as possible is key to passing. I passed in 75 questions first time.
