Duke University ABSN Fall 2013

Hey everyone! I submitted my application to Duke University's ABSN program for fall 2013 a few weeks ago, so I wanted to get some conversation started! Is anyone else applying?!

Seriously I wish this process could be more standardized.

Me too. It's pretty frustrating that different schools have different prerequisites, different deadlines, different notification dates!

It's especially frustrating because of the whole deposit thing! It stresses me out! Who knows though, I may not even be lucky enough to get in to more than 1 program so I may not need to worry about that! I just have a really hard time thinking about turning down a school when I haven't heard from all of them yet, if that makes sense. Especially because every school I'm applying to is competitive in some shape or form! Most of them have 20-30% acceptance rates.

However, we will hear from Duke about interviews in 11 days. That's not too far off! We can do it!

Does anyone know if Duke offers any merit scholarships for the ABSN? I've looked at the scholarships online and it looks like there are a couple need-based and scholarships for minorities but I didn't see anything other than the scholars program (not too sure what that program is either!)

No kelsey, I don't think there are any merit scholarships. There is a loan repayment option if you work for Duke Hospital for 3 years though!!!

Kelsey, they do offer 100% tuition + room and board to one student for each nursing program: http://nursing.duke.edu/financial-aid/financial-aid-and-loans/duson-scholarships. Perhaps you saw that one. But, wow, wouldn't that be nice!
