I love the "how much does s/he weigh?" thing. Ummm, the baby's feet have barely cleared the perineum?

They didn't implant scales in your hands when you passed the NCLEX? Psssh, you got ripped off!

And let's not forget to take pictures of the whole thing too! Gotta have that Kodak moment!
ha...
nothing says "kodak moment" like a limp, blue baby covered in thick mec.

And, after they have already asked you guys in the DR, I get them in PP (28 weeker in NICU)...."when is he going to be circumcised?"
Ummmmm......can we make sure he's, you know doing important things like eating and breathing well first?
I had a baby on ECMO the other night, not doing well at all, and her mom asked me when she'd be breastfeeding. I tried real hard to remember that this is like the only thing she has to hold onto - some normal baby thing. I managed not to scream.

I just took the NRP recert a couple weeks ago. The new thing now is "30 seconds". Baby still apneic after 30 seconds, considered secondary apnea ..... go to PPV. Everything is 30 seconds now, not wasting as much time in between.
