Do your colonized babies ever get out of isolation? if so, after how many negative cultures?

isolation for life at my children's hospital. SO if they are readmitted to PICU or any of the acute care floors they are always on isolation

Same here, once they get the mrso stamp on their chart they are doomed to isolation .

For us, 3 negative cultures and they are off isolation.

I wish our ID would let us do that!! They are under isolation protocol for one year after being negative for any readmissions. They are crazy when it comes to MRSA.

Parents tend not to mind either. While my NICU has about 48 of 56 rooms private and the rest of the hospital has majority private rooms there are a FEW paired rooms, MRSA kids are never in double rooms so they are always guaranteed a private room. Heck I wish I came up MRSA positive when I was inpatient because my roommate on the floor (I had been in a private ICU rm prior) was no peach :rolleyes:
