Well, took a chance and applied to NYU in Westchester for per diem Nurse and received a form letter stating :

Thank you for your interest in NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. While

your qualifications are impressive, you were not selected to interview

for Per Diem Psychiatry Nurse.

We wish you the best of luck with your job search.

:chuckle

Wow... that was a nice , humbling experience.

Cant say that has ever happened to me before... but I guess there is a first time for everything!

Jezzzz,

If thats what they sent to people with expirience, I can only imagine what they will tell me, a new grad!!!!!!!!!

Specializes in Public Health.

It sucks, but it was nice of them to send a letter.

Specializes in Gas, ICU, ACLS, PALS, BLS.

I received the same email. I think we need to wait until around the end of March (when they begin posting their new grad positions). Also, I'm going to be persistent/patient. I really want to go to NYP in one of their ICU's as a new grad. I'm just going to persist until they offer something, I have a few contacts :)

I will have to say that at least they did you the courtesy of sending a form letter. Many employers will actually lead you on at the interview or next contact and then you never hear again from them. I have never received a response to online applications and got a "who are you?" from an employer when I called them back. Now that is what I call rude and condescending. I tell everyone I know about the treatment they can expect from these employers. Kudos for the employer who thought you were important enough to inform you that you were not selected.

Specializes in Tele, Dialysis, Med-Surg, ICU,GI.

When I applied with NYP I got the same email, if my qualifications are impressive, so why aren't you hiring me?

It sounds like they may be on a hiring freeze d/t the economy. With both Mary Immaculate and St. John's closing in a month, I am sure they must be deludged with nurse applicants; and, with the economy, unable to afford to hire substancial nursing staff.

However, it certainly was professional and courteous of them to send an email like that. Says a lot for them.

I also got the same e-mal from NYP, but I'm only a new grad. I think I probably did not apply correctly. Meaning I didn't attach my transcripts, professonal references, etc. I'm still going to apply again!
