VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Congratulations on passing the NCLEX! Just a question for you if you don't mind....What review books did you find most helpful in studying for NCLEX? Thanks in advance.

Thanks! I used Saunders....Some of my classmates feel that there were the same questions on NCLEX as there are in Saunders and that it helped them...... I felt lost while taking it but I passed with 85 questions. Go figure. They make a Tips for Test Taking book that helped me more than the actual review book.

CONGRATSSSS!!!!!!

Thanks!

Congratulations Trinionli!!! Did u so happen to stop by the school and visit the science teacher? (Asking because I gave some former student who just passed the Nclex a hug in her office....hoping to pass along some of that good luck...lol) Anyway good luck again, and what r ur plans after VEEB? !

LOL Thanks. Nope... wasn't me. I haven't been back up to VEEB as yet. I'm looking for a job and trying to decide which route for my RN will be the best for me.

Hey Akanini,

Hope all is well. I'm aware that u currently attend Helene fuld. How is the program going so far? I attended their open house last nite n was told they offer 12months,18months or 24 months part time. Do u go full time and if so how do u manage work n school? Looking @ their curriculum the course load seems to be slightly heavy. Also, how would u rate the instructors and their style of teaching to that of VEEBS? Trying to get as much info as possible. Thanks in advance and good luck in ur studies! :)

I was there Thursday night in room 400. I saw you guys. I say CLEP n do the one year.

First semester done!!! Congratulations to all who made it. Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holiday(s) and a safe winter break...enjoy guys! :)

Side Note: I accidentally bumped into the infamous Akanini of this thread @ my local library. How cool is that?! Got a chance to annoy/drill her with a million questions :saint:, but she politely answered them all. Thanks Akanini lol. [Definitely LOVE Allnurses.com]

I know right....when you said you went to the Open House, I said it must be you.lol...Congrats on passing the first semester. It only gets harder, but look at the end of the road. My friend and I usually study at my house but decided to hit the library that day. I haven't been to that library since I graduated from Hunter College in 1999!!!!!! I ended up running into current Veebsters. What a co-in-ki-dink!!! I'm here anytime for questions. Right now concentrate on Veeb...Helene will always be there...TRUST ME. The one thing I will say is try to go right away....within 3 years... You will remember what you're learning now.

dam i havent been on here since second semester....just wanted to say i passed my nclex.....to everyone strugling to survive in this program stay strong and try to stay motivated...and to everyone in my graduating class of 2010 and passed their nclex...WE DID IT..........

To the class of 2010 congrats! We made it! Just wanted you all to know I too passed my Nclex, and am currently working for Northshore LIJ. I got my license on my birthday in Nov and got hired 1 month later. To all who have not found a job yet keep looking, don't stop you will get something if you persevere. To the class of 2011 keep studying yes it does get harder but you can make it!

Can u tell more about the exam and how long it is? And is it really hard?
