Yes, I would also like to know what your reasons are for choosing Pace over NYU..I have not yet been accepted into NYU but i have been accepted into Pace and if i do get accepted into NYU i will be in a dillema as I am just not sure which one to go for if i am put in that situation. NurseXTina could you please elaborate a bit on your reasoning? Would really appreciate it!

I just found out I was accepted to NYU, but will ultimately go with Pace. For me, its two reasons. The first being that their BSN program is shorter being that it is only 12 months (I am doing the one year track). Second, if I do decide to continue with a masters at Pace, I am guaranteed admissions into the program and don't have to reapply again. Both schools have high pass rates for the NCLEX, so you really can't lose with either in my opinion.

My stats for someone that asked: A's in all pre-reqs except Stats. 3.2 undergrad GPA.

Amchugh209, is it true that with Pace, you can go directly into the MS portion of the program after you finish the BS portion but with NYU, they require you to have worked as an RN for a year before you can start the MS portion? Thanks! Congrats on getting accepted to both schools!

Thank you! Pace allows you to start the MS portion whenever you want, directly after or years after, which I love. I know with NYU you can apply while in their BSN program to the MSN program. I think you apply when in your second semester. It sounded to me that as long as your grades are good, then you shouldn't have a problem. I don't remember hearing that they required you to work first. I guess the deciding factor for me ultimately is the length of Pace's program.

First, congrats!!! I got accepted into the 1 year track also and have two children, 6 and 4. My priority is finishing and getting a job asap, which is why I chose the 1 year track. I have a great support system with family and my husband to help with the kids which is huge, without them, I could never do this. It will be an intense year, but for me I look at it as only a year and I am done.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'll be seeing you in September!!! Did you meet with Tiffany Friedman yet??

Thank you, congrats to you as well!! No, I didn't meet with anyone yet. Still waiting for my letter after receiving two separate verbal confirmations I got in. So I guess I will know what I am doing next once I get that letter. I was told that it was on the way and I should have it next week.

You'll definitely get it within a week. The letter directs you to their website: Accepted Students - Graduate | Future Students | Pace University so def check it out.

Save your pennies, b/c we need to get a lot done before we start:
    $200 deposit
CPR for infants, children, and adults
    Background check
    Drug test
    Physical

***** said Orientation is in the summer and they'll give us more details about books, scrubs (Specific Pace scrubs), and our nursing kit (not sure what that is, but may include our stethoscope)

Congrats again! This is so very exciting!!

If you are accepted into NYU, you do not need to re-apply to get into the master's portion. You simply need to submit a brief letter/declaration as to why you would like to continue your onto the Master's portion at NYU once you completed your BSN. If I were you I would consider NYU over Pace, only due to scholarships NYU gives their MSN students grants that covers their tuition. Pace seems to offer loans

Does anyone know what the total cost of Pace's 1 year program is?

Also, looking at the NYU website: "Prior to entering the specialty courses of a respective nursing master's program, at least one year of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse is required for all master's programs, except for the following programs: Nursing Education requires three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse; Advanced Practice Nursing: Pediatrics requires one year of relevant clinical experience as a registered nurse in pediatrics."

It looks like for NYU, you have to have worked as an RN for a year before entering into the MS portion of the program but for Pace, you are able to enter into the MS portion following the BS portion.
