Nursing Program at Hunter College NLN Score

U.S.A. New York

Published

hey everyone! I'm currently a student at hunter college and am applying for the nursing program for Fall 2010. I am taking the NLN tomorrow and am very nervous! I know the test is computer based and you can get your score as soon as your finished taking the test. I know there have been NLN exams going on since Monday. I was wondering if people wanted to share their scores (totally anonymous) just so we can get idea of what the high-low scores are. I hope everyone did well and I hope to see you in the program this fall!:nurse:

They are only accepting 20 people for the accelerated program, there were 39 of us interviewed and they were axing 19 of us...we will know by MOnday....

hey guys! i got in too (generic program)...

i got a 3.4 and 152...

i'm taking the last 2 pre-requisites: ap2 and microbio...

Meddle we didn't know it was for the accelerated program! I thought we were all talkig about the generic!

audacia this is my second time applying as well! message me!

So any thoughts on the orientation today??

it was great!!! i'm so excited to start =D those nursing students that they brought in kinda scared me a bit but i'm pretty confident! i'm in section #1 anyone else?

I'm really excited too!! Can't wait to start in the Fall.

As for the students....they were just setting us straight I think. You should be confident don't let the pressure get you. There is a lot to do before Fall, a lot of expenses as well. I just hope I can maintain a job while being in school...all those expenses are gonna bankrupt me!

Ok here are my brief notes (if you have anything to add please do!!):

  • Get a CPR for Health-care Professionals certificate (from American Heart Association) by Sept 1st!
  • Submit any outstanding grades next week
  • Sign up for NSNA and become a member of HSNA and NSP (index)
  • Things to purchase: stethoscope, watch, white shoes, clicker flashlight pen, "Nursing's Social Policy Statement",
  • Physical with blood work and vaccines, Hep B vaccine (3 rounds, I believe)
  • MUST have health ins. Provide a copy of the card

I think that pretty much covers it. Anna, since you are in section 1 you probably arent aware of the CPR certificate. We must get that BEFORE first day of classes and the CRP certification must be the one for HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS!! Please dont forget to get that!!

Once I organized all the things we must do based on deadlines I realized that it's as overwhelming as I thought it would be. I just hope it will be an easy transition into the hell we are about to face this fall semster :D

WHOA! when did they go over the CPR certification? :uhoh3: Did the earlier sections walk out? So we have to acquire the CPR certificate by the American Heart Association, but which one is it? I'm looking up the classes but it says "Choose A Course"... help! :crying2:

Yea they pretty much forgot to mention that while everyone was in the class. I hope they send a mass email.

I am not sure what course it is also, I think its the "Heartsaver CPR".

Once I find out more information I will post.

Don't worry about it just yet, we have other things to worry about in the meantime.

Ok SO I asked someone about the CRP certification and she told me its the Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

Hope this helps!!
