No longer a new grad, still no job

I'm coming up on 10 months of graduation with a BSN, and still unemployed. I've applied to every hospital in the 5 boroughs, nassau and suffolk and nothing. Been on 2 interviews due to help from family members but still no job. I've accepted that I made a $60,000 mistake and now i have no way to pay it back. I cant even get a job as an aide, not even McDonalds will hire me because I have more than 1 BS degree. I'm willing to move to any state in the US for a job, in any area.

Do I have any chance of ever finding a job or should I just burn the RN license and degree as its worth more in ashes?

It must be a frustrating situation for you. Keep persevering and hopefully something good will come out of it. If you are willing to relocate, St. Luke's Episcopal health center in Texas and Yale New-Haven Hospital in Connecticut have great programs for new grads. Research them and see how you like them. Good luck

I'm a new grad RN (BSN) as well. I have had my license for a little over a month, and have been on some interviews- not many, but some. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping something (anything!) comes along.

I'm taking an IV refresher course this weekend since it's been so long since I've been out of the technical nursing loop!

Same situation, passed NCLEX in July and not one interview, only rejection letters and e-mails, waiting tables and hanging on, but once my loans kick in I am going to go under fast, I need to find a job.

I am in the same boat. I have had my RN license since March 2010 and been on the hunt ever since. I am hoping that the economy picks up pretty soon, so that we all can get our feet in the door. I heard, don't know how true, that the nursing industry will pick up after the new year. I hope and pray that this is true. I hope we all can get something soon. Good luck everyone.

so, next week will make it 1 yr since i was pinned as a nurse and i still have no job. I'm officially done with nursing. there are only so many no's you can take. when every single person you know has a job but you, it kills your spirit. mine is dead and buried. i dont even want to be a nurse anymore. i'm looking at jobs as a housekeeper/maid, so i can pay off my loans. going to college was a mistake!

apparently they all know people who can help them and no one wants to help me. its just sad that I was an academic tutor to them and some of them took the nclex more than once and they all have jobs and i still dont. plus since they all have jobs they dont talk to losers like me anymore.
