IN one of your reply posts you mention Lenox Hill Hospital & I was wondering what their shifts where like if you had known.. (ie. 2-3 nights 12 hour shifts *that's what I am primarily looking to do "weekend / graveyard shifts" when I graduate) Do you have a recommendation of recruiters? And How is the atmosphere here at this hospital if you know?:

No,

I am sorry to hear that! I thought there were tons of hospitals in NYC that hire new grads!

GOOD LUCK!!

what is the current salary for RN at brookhaven hospital in longisland ny?

Specializes in I was the Assistant to the DON.

Vassar or St. Francis in Poughkeepsie anyone?

Any schools in Westchester or NYC that hire new grads (ADN) AND have loan payoffs?

I got to know from my friends about the pay in the respective hospitals?.

I am in a dilemma to choose between the two., can anybody guide me.

As well, please let me know whether this is a good salary in Long Island, NY.

Thanks,

Nancy Ford.

I'm not sure which North Shore hospital those are supposed to be for, but they're not correct for NS Manhasset.

Specializes in med/surg/telemetry.

Hi Everyone,

I recently moved out to Stony Brook (Long Island) and was wondering if anyone had any advice about the hospitals out here. I've been a nurse for 5 years and am looking for a full-time position. I'm not too concerned about salary and more about the overall hospital environment. I've been told by several experienced RNs not to bother with Stony Brook University Medical Center. Other than that I haven't heard too much. Any comments would be really appreciated :)

Specializes in Anesthesia, CTICU.
I'm not sure which North Shore hospital those are supposed to be for, but they're not correct for NS Manhasset.

For NS Man, a more accurate representation would be:

Base 66,000

BSN 1200

Cert 1200

Night diff 5200

=

73,600 + whatever experience pay you negotiate/accept from them. There are 15 yr exp nurses making 90-ish, so 5 yr exp differential of ~6,000 seems reasonably attainable (total ~79,600). Also, this is for 13 shifts per 4 week schedule....

Hi Neeniebean,

Can you tell me the figure of NS Manhasset., the one I mentioned is for NS Franklin.

Please advise.

Thanks.
