D'youville College

The is the first post I have seen on this school so I am relieved. I just got accepted on Thursday. Is your cousin a transfer student or a freshmen? I live in CA so I am trying to find out more about this school, the program, and the environment in general. Thanks!

I was accepted last year...but I turned them down for Le Moyne College's DDPN program with St. Joseph's College of Nursing.

Le Moyne is much better! I did an overnight at both schools to help me decide...and while D'Youville would have been an okay place to be, Le Moyne definitely trumped it!

Some comparisons:

Size: They're both small (

Religious affiliation: Both Catholic are, although Le Moyne is Jesuit.

Start of nursing classes: DYC students start in their first year, Le Moyne in their second.

Clinicals: Both schools start clinicals in the 2nd year.

NCLEX pass rate: DYC's is about 80% while Le Moyne's is about 96%

Campus: DYC is extremely urban, and is also a commuter school. LMC is more removed from the city, and most people live on campus.

Pre-reqs: DYC requires gen bio and chem while LMC starts right in with A&P.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew how competitive D'Youville College's Nursing program is? Is it difficult to get in? Nursing programs are so difficult to get into these days... I applied quite late and I'm at the edge of my seat waiting for a reply... ):

Nope not hard to get into, I got accepted but decided to take cheaper cc route. I talked to the admissions women at length and she said they take some people with as low as 2.5's!!

D’Youville College honors its Catholic heritage and spirit of St. Marguerite d'Youville by providing academic, social, spiritual, and professional development in programs that emphasize leadership and service. D’Youville teaches students to contribute to the world community by leading compassionate, productive, and responsible lives.

2. When I applied (fall 2008), first year nursing students DID take gen bio and DID NOT take A&P. The curriculum must have changed since then.
