Our Lady of Lourdes Nursing School

Hi

Can anyone tell me about the program? Would you recommend it?

Thanks

Congrats. When do you start?

If you accept the scholarship in exchange for working with them for 1 yr after graduation, do you get paid less, or does it compare to average rates

The interview wasn't a big deal. Why do you want to be a nurse? What are your strengths and weaknesses? Exciting questions like that. :) Try to relax and just be yourself. Be sure to go with a list of questions YOU have, in case they don't all get answered.

Are you currently in the program?

I was also accepted to the school.. When will you be starting? I need to finish my pre-reqs first..I was just happy I was able to apply and find out I was accepted before I finished my pre-reqs.

I just had my interview September 9, 2008, and was told that I met all my requirements, but they needed one last official transcript from my college and my file would undergo final review on friday September 19, 2008. My interviewer did ask me whwn I was able to start and i said ASAP then she wrote Jan'09 on my interview sheet. She also red carded me into the Intro to Nursing class which I am currently taking. I am so anxious, I check my mail box everyday, wanting to know if I got in....any ideas? How long after your interview and final review do you have to wait?

you actually get more $ if you take the $10k scholarship. i believe the amount even covered books. if you decline it, you can get $10k as a sign-on bonus, given that you'll work f/t for 1 year. but, it's $10k after taxes, which ends up being about $7k at the end. i think it's smarter to take the scholarship. hoep that helps.

you do not get paid any less for taking the scholarship. when i started, it was about $25.25/hr on days and about $28/hr on nights. hope that helps.

Thank you so much, this info certainly helps.

Who is there now? One of my classmates and I are taking a "reunion tour" Thurs pm.

Our class gets together every couple of years @ the Shore for a weekend. Great fun.

I am going to the open house Thurs night @ 6pm. I am doing my prereqs at BCC right now, but I think this is my first choice. Twizzlerbabe-please keep us updated to let us know if you got in, and good luck!

Thanks. I will certainly keep you guys updated. I also plan on attending the open house this Thursday, for information purposes. I did all my pre-reqs at BCC also, I just have one last class, which is the statistics class and I'm taking that the third weekend session, from November to December. Good luck to you too.

No. I decided that a BSN program made more sense for me, because I already have a bachelor's degree and I know I want to go on for my MSN fairly quickly.
