How soon you will opt for a desk job???

RN's job is not easy.

An alternative for an RN is to opt for a job in a pharmaceutical company as a CRA working at a desk,a typical 9 to 5 job.

How much that kind of work can appeal to you?

Why? :uhoh3:

What exactly does a CRA do? I don't know if I'd like that. I'd rather work as a death investigator (not exactly a desk job) or in a law office, I think.

I'm going into nursing to get AWAY from the 9-5 life. I couldn't stand:

a) sitting in traffic twice a day, even though my commute was only 4 miles

b) always going to the grocery store, pet store, target, etc. when EVERYONE else in the world was there, and

c) living for the weekends.

It was killing me. That and sitting in my cubicle for 8+ hours a day really wore me down.

Specializes in CTICU/CVICU.

I feel ya, PennyLane. That is EXACTLY why I'm leaving the NY corporate life for the flexibility of nursing. My commute takes over an hour (I commute into NY)..I would have to do 5 years or more of butt kissing to get the salary starting RNs get..and I'm going blind by the computer glare. Need I say more??
