I'm so sorry Niciki24 :hug:I appreciate your positive attitude and wish you well in your transfer. Do you mind me asking what the reason for denial was? These are for you. :flwrhrts:

The letter just states that admission to the program is biased on: courses completed @ ecc, residency, number times a science course was retaken, GPA in eng, bio 121 and chem, and NLN scores, but in actuality they just go by NLN scores. You needed to have 50% in AD perecentiles column and i didn't meet the mandatory numbers. I wished they had just mailed out the letters back in March because we knew our NLN scores then and regardless of gpa, and etc and those who scored higher on the test are the ones that have been accepted.

Hey guys. Two of my micro classmates received denial letters including the one I posted about earlier. I asked them what happened and they both said it was due to the 50th% required to pass the NLN. One got below 50% in Science and the other in Math. They both have high GPA's but as I stated previously, they don't go by cummulative GPA's.

I wish the rest of you well in your pursuit but if you didn't score @ least 50% in all three sections of the NLN, science, english, and math, then it's unlikely that you'll get in.

JT143 and RNintraining72 please tell me you scored above 50%.

Hi PhoenixTech,

I received my denial letter the other day. I was shocked due to my high Gpa but as you said i didn't make the 50th percentile in the math! So good bye ECC! gonna transfer out and go to Caldwell college or Felician. I'm so sad was looking forward to studying and graduating with you but knock em dead for me and please please please stay in touch! CONGRATS to all who made it and to those who didn't.. DON'T GIVE UP!!! I WON'T :(

So glad i found this site. I've applied for the Evening program and plan to take the pre nursing exam this september. Have not started studying cuz i have a lot going on!! Anyway I want to know what times the evening classes start at essex county college because I have to work. I have all my pre-requisites and PRAY I pass my entrance exam as I start to study this weekend. Anyone want to do a study group of the entrance exam?

Any advice guys?

Sorry wrong forum

Sorry I haven't had a chance to log on however I also received a denial letter...but on the other hand I got into my second choice which was an LPN program. I also did not score above the 50% mark in math however my GPA is high. One thing I don't get is the LPN test is scored the same way and I got in and I didn't hit the 50% mark in all areas but overall my % was way over 50 so I'm lost on that!

I'm happy that you had a positive outcome. Once you become a LPN, it'll be easier to bridge over to a RN. You might not even need to take an entrance exam. I wish you the best. :yeah:

I have a quick question.

I am interested in applying for the nursing program and plan on starting the pre's this Fall. I was just wondering where the clinicals are held. I live in Monmouth County and I am not able to drive, I would be able to use public transportation to the main campus but if I can not find a way to clinicals it would be sort of pointless too attend ECC.

Hi jessicya

We do clinicals at local hospitals and nursing homes that are accessible by using public transportation. I'm sure you'll be able to get to them if you are willing to put a little effort in. I wish you well. :)

who did you take statistics with at ECC ??? how was the class??
