I would like to hear from students of this program, do you recommend it? I can't imagine doing the didactic portion of a Nursing program online and then coming to campus/clinical sites for the rest of the program. Are students graduating from this program confident of their nursing skills and then going on to successfully pass the NCLEX?

I talked to the admissions office at Roseman and they said that the program was regionally accredited. I also found out that this program is a COHORT, so I suppose the program is sort of experimental.

I would love to hear from current or graduated students of this program.

Thanks!

Almost 3 months since your post, have things improved or is it still going badly? Also, do they at-least give you study guides to see what you should focus on during the gigantic reading assignments?

Oh and did you form a study group by any chance, if so was it helpful at all or do you recommend independent study.

Thanks for your info, all my other choices would mean waiting longer and I really want to get my BSN and be done with this part of my life, but I also don't want to waste $70k just to get fail.

Ethnurse, what about the BSN program? It is the same amount of time(in the end with comp predictors) The teachers will do reviews or games to help you focus on what to study but there are still blocks that you pretty much need to study your brains off. With our program there are many student study groups you just have to find the people you can study with the best.

HI heatherisbetter! Thank you for responding! So you would recommend Roseman's BSN program in UTAH instead of ABSN at either campuses? I read a lot of negative reviews about Roseman Nevada and how I should avoid the program at all costs... How is the BSN program like in Utah? Admission requirements? How long is the program? I don't have a BA/BS degree yet and I wanted to get my BSN. I still have to take a lot of the science pre reqs class about 7 courses I still have to complete.

I have really liked the program here in Utah, the admission requirements are as stated but I was able to get in with kind of bad grades, I think because this program is newer here and they are filling seats. I am not sure that I could do the ABSN... the teachers here really are helpful and want to see everyone do well but I am not sure how it works with the ABSN. Coincidentally, we are having an ABSN orientation starting today in the room next door. So far so good for me in the BSN program.. Luckily, I haven't had issues with the testing or worried about failing out at all. The program is "18 months" and I have 7 months and 30 days to go ;) it really does fly by!

Hello,

Thank you for reading my comment on Roseman ABSN and for the follow-up questions.

I am not sure what else to say except it has gotten worse.

Our peds clinical instructor is awful, the peds didactic instructor was awful and the upcoming adult health 2 block will be taught by a notoriously disorganized professor.

I only chose this program because my A&P classes were more than 10 yrs old and no other nursing program would accept them -- even though these courses totaled twice the credits necessary, all were A's and at the graduate level.

The BSN program is another story: these students actually like/love the program and their professors. For maternity and newborn health, the previous ABSN professor was fired because she failed 1/3 of the class, and she was temporary replaced with a prof from the BSN program. This alternate professor was coerced into teaching us despite her already full course load. notwithstanding she was amazing!! and the only amazing didactic instructor we have yet had!!

So: if you must go to roseman, go for the BSN program. it is ONLY 2 months longer, the professors are considered much better, and the program is considered much more organized.

Nearly all of my ABSN classmates regret going to Roseman. This is a terrible sentiment to be so universally shared. But we feel trapped because credits don't transfer between Roseman and other nursing programs. So if you transfer/fail out you have to start over again.

finally: you can switch to BSN program provided you have only failed one class.

Though: it's best to just stay away from roseman ABSN in the first place.

there are other hybrid (ie didactic online) programs. I'd recommend looking into those if the online-didactic is a selling point for you.

Hope this is helpful.

Cheers,

Sarah

PS yes: Roseman broke their contract with us students when they both changed the academic calendar and the tuition schedule. If any of us wanted to, we would have grounds to sue and request a full refund. though, at this point, the best option is to just finish up the program and warn others to stay away.

As a Roseman grad I can honestly report that most of the staff could care less about your success in the program. They have some instructors that are awesome, don't get me wrong, but the QA/QC on teachers is non existent. I have had instructors who had no clue about the evolving mindset of nursing. They were unable to explain rationale, pathophysiology etc. and after their failure to educate resulted in people getting kicked out of the program, the school response was to let it ride under academic freedom. At least the former dean --------------------is gone... She, in my opinion, was a student antagonist. I have from an inside source that she was pissed if everyone passed a test on the first try because "the test wasn't hard enough." I doubt if the new dean is much better. This school is run like a business: they want your loan money but if you can't work around their failures and inconsistencies--tough luck, thanks for the money. If you are a strong student you come out of it with a great resume, but I would not recommend this program to anyone. They need to close the program and re-assess what they are asking of their clients/students. But they won't because they are making really good money off people they can convince will succeed. I started with 42 classmates and graduated with maybe 22 of the original group. The school made about 200K off their own ineptitude. And they fight to the last breath any challenge to the integrity of the program. Hmm, broke ass student vs corporate lawyers? How's that going to turn out? I am writing this as a Roseman graduate in the hopes that it deceases their admission rates and forces them to re-evaluate the program. God knows they didn't have an ear to listen to me when I was a student.

Hi heatherisbetter... you seem to be the only one that has any thing positive to say about Roseman. I would love to talk further with you about your experience, but am unable to pm you due to my lack of posts on this site. I am brand new to it. Would you please email me? [email protected] Thank you!!!!

Hi,

I'm either planning to attend the ABSN or the BSN here. I just talked to the admission rep. She has most of my prereqs, but still missing some science class. I like how the ABSN works, since most of the my life as a college student is on line. But then I would like to reconsider the BSn program. Its only like 2 months difference. But I'm like super scared with the 90% at least to pass the program...

Hi Heatherisbetter,

You mentioned that you got in with the bad grades, I'm kinda in the same shoes as you as well, but I pass the required gpa tho. Higher than 2.75. If you don't mind me asking, if you had bad grades prior to attending the college, are you saying that since you attended the BSN program, it made a big difference on your studies and now ur passing everything with a good grade? COz i know you have to be like at least 90% on all you work to be able to move forward.. Thats the part that scares me.. the at least 90%grade..

HI Sarah,

So are you saying that its just best to stay away from any program at Roseman? like at any cost?

Anyone have info about the ABSN program in UTah? Looking into going there but want to make sure it's a good gig. Thanks

Hi,

I am from LA and i got into Cal State San Marcos ABSN program. I am thinking to apply to Roseman ABSN because it's a very short program. However, would you recommend me to go to Roseman for their 16 month ABSN or attend Cal State San Marcos 24 month ABSN program?

Thanks
