Testing strategies = Kaplan

Content = Hurst

I've attended Hurst 3-day Live Class and I am very much pleased with it. They review content in terms that are understandable. They will explain the pathophysiology of a certain disease and from there you'll just know the signs and symptoms and the interventions.

With Kaplan, I only bought their book. I've read the whole book and I've done the practice questions in it. They have great question prep, similar to the real thing. And they will teach you great testing strategies.

To be honest, knowing your core content is the best way to go. Being familiar in test taking strategies is just a bonus.

Can't tell you about Hurst but I did use Kaplan and I passed my test on first try with 75 q

I'm getting ready to take the NCLEX exam in December and I really wanna which review is better, KAPLAN OR HURST REVIEW, I truly wanna pass with the first try

I have yet to meet a single person who didn't truly want to pass on their first try

It's not a matter of which program is best, they have all helped people to pass, and people have failed using these programs as well. It comes down to where your weak areas are, and you have A TON OF TIME to find out what that is.

You're "getting ready to take the NCLEX" but you won't be doing that until DECEMBER, a full 8+ months away! If that's when you graduate, you have a ton of content to learn before then. You cannot even know where your weak areas ARE just yet.

Are you eight months away from graduating an RN program.....or have you recently started a PN program?

Is your school offering a review course as part of your tuition? Have you been doing NCLEX-style testing all along? How are you doing with that?

I did Hurst (school provided it). The review itself was really good, but funnily, I didnt have one question from my hurst content on NCLEX. Obviously it is highly unpredictable what you will get, just found it funny.

It's the RN program. I'll have the summer off and I don't want to sit idle. I'm going to use these two months wisely so that I can take the NCLEX before the New Year

Then probably the best use of your time would be to practice strategy questions (Kaplan very good for that). Prioritizing patients and interventions. If you are weak in content areas, bone up on those; basic knowledge is required in order to get to the higher level questioning you need to pass to get that license :)
