  1. I was recently hired in at a trauma 1 level hospital. I applied for the ER PCT(tech) position and they offered me a position as an extern student nurse with an option to join their ER residency program once I graduate in December. I always wanted to work in the ER but a lot of nurses are saying that I should apply for a med-surg position before I jump into the ER.
