UWORLD for NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Ok guys and gals I need a little help. I'm a father of two that graduated my ADN RN program late October 2015. Now I take my boards im 7 days and have been using UWORLd exclusively. I have done over 3,300 questions and have a 55 percent. I was worried about my score I cannot lie so today I have done 4 75 question tests and I have reached from 60-80 percent. I'm lost I feel like I'm barely passing and these question are pretty dam difficult. I'm hoping I get a little info maybe about how my fellow nursing grads did while study for th NCLEX using UWORLD any help would be great! Thank you

Don't focus on scores it will drive you mad, make sure your learning from the rationales as to why you got things right and wrong! I used multiple sources when studying for NCLEX but Uworld was my favorite because of the detailed rationales. Make sure the day before your exam you rest brush up on some light topics I only did infection control and lab values. You will not know everything on your exam, but by using critical thinking; breaking down the questions and answers and using test taking strategies (ABC's, adpie, safety, least invasive ect) you will be fine! Good luck to you!!

How many questions did you have for the NCLEX ? How helpful was Uworld ? What were your average scores ? Sorry for so many questions I'm just anxious about all of it :***:

Goodluck to you! I did 2/3 of Uworld Qbank in 1month before my test. average 59%. I also used all of Kaplan's for about 2.5months+ Saunders 3/4 of Qbank. I loved Uworld & its rationales.

I tested on Dec.16th & after 3 days I have my license posted on breeze already[emoji5]️

Focus & be confident.

What was the NCLEX like how many questions did you have?

I had 83. My first was SATA about constipation [emoji23] then they repeated like several questions similar to it. People are saying you must have chosen wrong answer and that's why they keep on repeating or giving you similar topic. I got questions anorexia nervosa. Bioterrorism ugh[emoji37] A question on Thalassemia. Cervical CA. Risk factors, i looked up my answer and i made a mistake:) i was thinking of BREASt CA & i chose menarche (early menstruation). I got anxious toward questions 40's coz i was getting low level questions then i went back to analysis/SATAs again. No med calculations[emoji53] i was waiting for that! I had an exhibit type where u look up labs and notes. Maybe like 10-13 SATA's and the rest is mx choice. No lab values. Not much meds. Not much Mental Health. Med surg mostly & critical care questions for me.

My average score @ UWorld for a month was 59% & my Kaplan QTrainer 7 was like 57-58% i think. I didnt do qtrainer 6 coz i was running out of time. The week before the test i was just basically memorizing and writing down most common lab values, theraputic levels, formulas like the rule of nines, drip factors etc & other basic stuff that I might have forgotten from too much information [emoji16]

Specializes in Intake, Home Care.

My average with Uworld was 71. I took 12 tests I think and when I sat for my boards I passed first try, 75 questions. I was a very average B-C student and excelled at clinical. Feel free to message me with any questions.

How hard was the NCLEX compared to UWORLD?

How hard was the NCLEX compared to UWORLD?

I'll say about the same. There are questions that are almost similar to the NCLEX [emoji5]️. I used it for about a month. I finished about 75% of the Qbank.

Ok I'm getting serious test anxiety I have done 4,200 question on UWORLD total percentile of 57 have taken 6 75 question test today and have averaged 70-80 percent.. I feel more confident but don't know if it's honestly enough...Testing on The 30th :/

Good for you. I can't do more than 3 75qs in a day:) i did like 250q on kaplan Qtrainer one time but it was like an hour after i woke up, coffee, lil bit of exercise then i sat to do a 250qs. Mentally exhausting yup.

I alternated Kaplan, Saunders & Uworld[emoji38] some people are saying 'oh you'll be confused' but it actually helped me. I also made notes of topics that are new to me esp. meds.

Goodluck to you! You should be fine[emoji5]️

Do you know of any predicter test that I can take ...thank you for all your help
