Testing in one week and very nervous

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I have been studying for a little over a month. Although I took a few days off, I study quite consistently. I have been doing mostly questions on the Davis CD, doing Lachairty and reading Hurst. I am so tired, and I seem to make dumb mistakes on practice questions. I don't know if this is due to may test day approaching. Also, this will be my second time, and I want and need this so bad. I have been praying everyday for God to clear my mind and allow me to retain the information that is needed to pass this test.

Have FAITH, GOD is working through us, and guiding us to fulfill His purpose for us.. :)

I can feel that you are working hard, great job my friend.. :D A little more, just hold on to our GOD's promises, and you will reap His blessings..

I have been studying too, and a lot of times I get simple mistakes like not noticing "key words" in the questions like "least", "best", "put in correct order".. sometimes I read the questions so fast that I overlook obvious hints, and thats what makes me answer wrong... Just take it in, read carefully, and do it step by step, attack the questions as if its your first question, knowing you have the knowledge and wisdom needed to answer it... :) Also, sometimes, we also need a break.. At some point during my review, i felt that nothing was coming into mind, that it seemed like I wasn't getting any of the answers right, so I stepped back, took a break, and then refreshed my mind and soul...

After that, when I got back to studying everything was more clear now, and I was beginning to understand again.. :)

Don't be discouraged, GOD is on our side, nothing compares to Him.. :)

Raise your anxieties and doubts to Him, and take refuge in our Lord Jesus Christ...

I test in 4 days, and yes, I did feel pressured and anxious, but as you are doing now, I took refuge through prayers... GOD already knew I was feeling weak, so He took up my fears and filled me with FAITH... :)

You are doing well, just keep believing in your prayers and keep believing in yourself..:)

Good luck on your day, God bless!

Hurst is awesome, but I did the online review and listened to the lectures at least a couple times, each. The thing that helped me immensely was knowing how to look at the questions, what NCLEX thinks is important, all these things that Marlene Hurst explains in her strategy/test taking lecture. Of course, you have to know your core content, but I went into my test much more confident because of her.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I will be praying for you faithful Pau! We definitely have to keep focused. I finished the Kaplan strategy book. I have been using the kaplan strategies as I practice the Davis questions. I also have Saunders and other books that I refer to if I need additional info.
