Taking NCLEX PN Saturday

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I'm scheduled to take the NCLEX PN this Sat, and my nerves are starting to get to me. I just finished the LPN program in July and I'm starting RN program August 18th. Our program utilized ATI for the entire year. We also did a comprehensive ATI predictor on our last day of the program. According to the predictor, I have a 98% chance of passing NCLEX on first attempt. (But I've heard NCLEX is nothing like ATI, so it can't be accurate). We also had a review class in our last semester that had us do over 3000 questions from various NCLEX style books to prepare us. Since graduation I have been reviewing Exam Cram 4th edition and Mosby's Comprehensive Review. I think just not knowing what to expect is half my nervousness. Anyway, if anyone has any words of wisdom to share, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey jstx5,

I am taking my NCLEX RN this Saturday too!! Tomorrow I am going to sit for 265 questions practice. Friday I am going to review a bit important notes labs, precautions, EKG's and review questions then relax watch movie.. try to sleep early to wake up fresh and have good healthy breakfast and use the bathroom before the exam.. take first break when needed don't wait too long!

When you sit for your board try to relax stay positive and think you can pass it.. Read questions carefully and go with your gut. I am super nervous too!!! Try not to rush rethink the answers then pick! Do not change your answers. Review Good luck to both of us!

Thanks, hmahdoui. I'm going to follow your advice and try to do something relaxing Friday and even Saturday morning. I take my test at 3:00pm. Good luck to you!

No problem! Yup I am taking my board 8 am wish I could take it in the afternoon. I have trouble sleeping!

You studied so hard so spoil yourself a day before.. your brain won't retain nothing a day before the exam. Review only important notes those advises came from my friends who passed the board. STAY POSITIVE!!

Just in case you are cruising this site today....STOP and go do something relaxing! Seriously, you are going to do just fine on your test tomorrow. If you feel overwhelmed when taking it just stop and close your eyes and breathe 3 cleansing breaths before you go back to testing. You have the knowledge within you. Stay confident and like hmahdoui said, stay positive. God bless you! You will be a nurse very soon!

Thanks so much, dbrenda1510! I will try my best to relax today!
