  1. I'm starting April 1st. I just had my intake interview today.
  2. I think everyone dislikes the SATA. I'm terrible with them. I just took NCLEX Sat and out of 85 questions, 23 were SATA. It was tough, but just answer each option as a true/false statement until you get through each option.
  3. I took the NCLEX PN Saturday August 9th at 3:00pm. I tried PVT at least 50 times over the weekend and always got the good pop up. I was sure I failed because it shut off at 85 questions. I had 23 SATA plus alternate items. I found out today at 4:00 pm that I passed.
  4. Hi! I know exactly how you feel. I started my pre requisites back in 2010. I have 3 children. They are now 11, 9, and 6. When I begin back to school at age 34, my youngest was about 1 and a half. I took it slow, 2 classes a semester. At times, even 2 classes was a challenge when I got into my Biology 101 and Anatomy and Physiology, etc. It's not going to be easy, but you can do it! I just finished the practical nursing program and had all A's and B's. I was accepted into the Transition RN program and I start August 18th. In addition, I homeschool all three of my kids. We didn't start that way, but for us it made life more doable for many reasons that I won't bore you with. My best advice to you is to stay organized. I always wake up at 5:30 every morning during the week. That is my first study/homework time of each day. That way, no matter what the rest of the day throws at me I've gotten at least 3 hours of my schoolwork in. It may take time to get everyone adjusted to your schedule, but believe me, it will happen. You may have to try a variety of schedules until you find one that works. Just don't give up. You can do it!
  5. Congrats!
  6. The ATI website is https://www.atitesting.com/Home.aspx. We used ATI throughout the whole program. We had a "final" ATI at the end of every course, as well as a Comprehensive ATI predictor right before we graduated. It told us what % was likely that we would pass NCLEX on 1st attempt, and what our weak areas were so we could focus on those. As much as I complained about the ATI tests through the past year, I'm now convinced they were a great tool to help us prepare.
  7. I'm so sorry you didn't pass, hmahdoui. Just keep being positive, start reviewing when are are ready, and I'm sure you will do fine the next time around. Hang in there.
  8. I just took NCLEX PN Saturday and I didn't recognize any but 1. I did a pretty thorough review of Pharm with ATI practice exams and Exam cram. I think the best thing is like the other poster said....study drug classes, suffixes, etc.
  9. I use exam cram and ATI the most.
  10. Every program is different. I just graduated from LPN program in July and start the RN program August 18th. However, if a student has to repeat a PN course then they are required to work a full year as a LPN prior to applying for a seat in the RN program.
  11. I graduated from the LPN program July 18th. Just took the NCLEX yesterday. I was accepted into the RN program July 26th. My first day of class is August 18th. I had already completed all my general ed for the ADN program prior to the LPN program. I have 3 children. They are 11, 9, and 6. I also homeschool all three because it gives us the flexibility to travel and we all "study" together. It also helps us to have a lot more time with them than I would if they were in PS. We have lots of field trips and fun with other families and then I hit the books. For us it was easier for me to keep going rather than take a break because we are already used to this schedule and it works for us. I think the time to go back for everyone is unique and dependent on their circumstance. There were several of my classmates that were burned out and plan on taking a semester off.
  12. I'm still not sure what to think about it. There were some really tough questions on there on various diseases and pharmacology that I never heard of. I can't imagine I could have done anything different to prepare for those questions. I used a Kaplan book that I borrowed from the library mainly for the decision tree and followed their advice on breaking down each question, etc. Our program utilized ATI for each class. We also did a NCLEX preparation class in our last semester where we did various NCLEX style tests/quizzes weekly that our instructors got from different NCLEX review books and Mosby's comprehensive review book. We took about 3000 questions in our last semester, plus the ATI comprehensive predictor. I graduated at the end of July and took first available test date. Then I mainly studied every day using exam cram book and cd of questions. Good luck on taking your test and I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, let me know.
  13. Hopefully we both passed!!!!
  14. I took the NCLEX today at 3:00p. Finished at 4:20 whe the computer shut off at 85 questions. I took my time, and had 23 SATA. I tried PVT at least 6 times since I left testing center and keep getting the "good pop up". Is it possible that it may change and I did it too soon? I will be paying for quick results in 48 hrs.
