Has anyone took the Sylvia Rayfield Nclex course? If so, can you give me your opinion of her course. I read it was a 98-99% pass rate for Nclex. Thanks!!!!!!

Personally, I am using kaplan and Helen Feuer home study.

GOD Forbid I fail,

I will go to HELEN FEUER live lecture that is comming to my state in Jan.

i also heard of Sylvia Rayfield and heard she is great!

I did the Rayfield review as it was mandatory for graduation in May 2007. I do like the books for nclex review by Rayfield, but the review itself was not as helpful. The books by Rayfield has a lot of mnemonics to remember drugs/content by but that does work for me that much. The Rayfield nclex -rn questions were good though. I did not pass nclex-rn 1rst time. For the upcoming second time around..I am using Feuer Home study (which is great and very in depth!), Kaplan online course study, and the NCSBN site by the makers of nclex. I wish I had the latter three tools the first time around.

Good luck in whatever you choose!

OK. I am about to take it for the first time soon, and If I do fail (I won't be back here on the boards! I will go into hiding) I will not be taking the sylvia rayfield.

Hello

I did Sylvia Rayfield review course it wasn't helpful to me. I am studying using Suzanne's plan and I will be testing for the third time next month. By doing this plan I have learned alot and retained more information than before. Good Luck, you have to find what will work for you.

That's your decision, but as you see many others are on the boards all of the time because it helps (even after a failure). I have nothing to be ashamed of because I graduated cum laude honors in May. I have no reason to go into hiding. Just because one fails does not mean that they should go into hiding because all that does is draw loneliness/depression about the results. If one fails, as many have, brushing themself off and continuing on down the routes that will help them is all some need.

Suit yourself!

there are tons of rns that have taken the test more than once and are great rn's.

when you pass, i hope you share with those of us that haven't taken it some tips on how you studied to help us!

no, i am choosing the chance to now share experiences of mine on this board now because i have seen what works and what has not worked for me. just look above at the post that you have responded to ( it involves me sharing my knowledge of nclex-rn).

i am using feuer, kaplan and i did ncsbn but did not like it

iwillbanrn,

what didn't you like about ncsbn if you don't mind me asking? and what did you like about feuer? i have used kaplan 2x, and it didn't really help me... obvioiulsly i have to retake the exam, so i'm looking for other options...

thanks,

lah

Yes, I took Sylvia's course and personally I needed the upbeat confidence level she gave me, I needed it bad. Everyone has there favorite and what works for them. I have the self study and CD's where I can listen over and over and also put it on my MP3 player and go to sleep with it. I have set it aside and doing Suzanne's plan and then I will go back and listen once more before doing boards(again), BUT for me I will have done everything I feel is needed and do feel better about my knowledge content and my self confidence, and as we know they go hand in hand "Knowledge is Power", I know that sounds corny, BUT I do believe it. Good Luck to Everyone. We all deserve our Hopes and Dreams We have worked to hard not to SUCCED

i agree witn iwillbanrn,

ncsbn gives you quizzes and gives you the answer right away, so you are taking questions in tutor mode all the time, exept for the begining when you actally get a score.

i like feuer for the content, she explains it very well. i will start doing the questions this week.

Am I the only one taking Hurst review? Has anyone heard whether you are given more complex questions when you retest the 2nd or 3rd time?
