Ok I have a question I have Saunders Comprehensive review 3rd edition and was wanting to know if you all think just this one book is good enough to study with or if I should also buy the Saunders Q & A review book as well. Thanks!

you should try kaplan nclex-rn exam 2005-2006 edition....i just recently took the nclex and i passed.. this book will teach you critical thinking strategy, techniques for the adaptive test.... this book is truly great... it helped me a lot..

I would not get any book at this point for preparation, you still have two years more to study. Things change, and I am sured that questions will at that point as well.

I didnt buy the Saunders it was in my book package when we got books this semester. They said it MIGHT be helpful while in school to study for the areas we have already gone over. I was just wondering if this was true???

It can be helpful for specific topics, but not as a review book for you at this point in your career.

I just graduated nursing school and I used the Saunders book for the last year of school. That book and the Saunders Strategies For Success For The NCLEX-RN-Examination helped me think critically (as they give the rationale for the right answer as well as the wrong answers) and raised my test scores in school. It is important, however, to do the recommended reading they give you and use the compreshensive study guide as a supplement. Good luck!

I agree with inspir8tion's reply. I, too, used Saunder's 3rd ed NCLEX-PN Comprehensive Review book(in addition to the required Med/Surg & OB books) for this past semester in school. For me, I think the Saunder's book helped make things "clearer" & also gave me more practice questions when reviewing for quizzes & tests. Thus, I am proud to say I got an "A" in the class.

However, I also realize everyone's study habits are different. I, for one, do not do well with study groups. Never have & probably never will. I just find them more of a distraction than anything else.

So, I would say use Saunder's books as backup to the required books the instructors make you purchase. Those are the books they are testing you off of, not Saunders.

I used Saunders all throughout nursing school and it helped immensely! Between the review, and then all the practice questions, I do believe it added to my success in school. When I graduated, I bought the newer edition to take the boards and used that, along with Kaplan

I used the Sauders Comprehensive Review book before test taking. It helped me a great deal and prepared me for the practice nclex I took at the end of the semester. I am also using Incredibly Easy nclex review and Kaplan for state boards. Kaplan seems to have more challenging questions.
