Only a few more days left

So I only have a few more days left before my second attempt on this exam! I am so overwhelmed and nervous even though I do feel confident. I've been doing about 200 questions per day but I was wondering what else can I do?!

I have been using the exam cram book for questions and the Saunders CD. I am looking up the information I am weak in and reading every rationale (right or wrong)!

I know I am putting alot into this but I really need to pass and I keep seeing threads about people failing 3..4..5 times and it is so overwhelming!! :(

Any suggestions/tips/advice?!

Thanks !!

What resources did you use the first time you took your nclex?

To be honest, I didn't really do much the first time around. I looked over the 35 pg study guide that floats around here. I used exam cram for maybe 100 questions because I bought it too late. I also bought the Kaplan premier book, which is nice, but I started to memorize the answers so that was helping me either. I liked the strategies though. This time around I tried to take a different approach on it but I just hope it ends up being beneficial for me!

Don't take this the wrong way, but your strategy for preparing the first time is most likely why you failed. Don't spend time reviewing information unless you are continually getting questions about a certain topic wrong. The key is to do as many questions as you can, at least 100 per day. And ideally you want to do at least a couple thousand questions. So if you do 100 per day, I would say take a good 3 weeks to prepare before taking the exam. That way you will have done over 2000 questions. If you get something wrong, understand why it was wrong. Even on the questions that you get right it wouldn't hurt to know why the other answers were wrong. Thus, you're learning while you are doing questions without having to explicitly sit down and just review information.

You are 100% right. My first approach, in other words, sucked! I've been doing exactly what you mentioned. I have been doing questions everyday for the last 2 weeks so it is helping tremendously. Thank you for your advice!

Best of luck to you!! Keep that confident feeling when you go to test. That's the key to being successful. You have done all the right steps!
