NCLEX-RN IN AWEEK...here's my scores and study info.....how am i doing?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I have being following threads on this site for a year now, even though I have never made any comments. However, I recieved many study tips and advice that has helped me throughout nursing school.

I used the kaplan that was provided by our school, we also had a 1 week kaplan live review course back in December prior to graduation. I think kaplan is great to assist with reviewing because of its strategies and highly developed nclex type questions fostering critical thinking. I also reviewed the book, very easy to read and straight to the point. Here are my scores with Kaplan ( it was mandatory to complete trainers 1-6 prior to graduation by our school):

qbank 100% completed 56%( mostly used on my phone when doing something else)

Diagnostic 58%

Trainer 1 62.7%

'' '' '' 2 70%

'' '' '' 3 55%

'' '' '' 4 66.7%

'' '' '' 5 65.3%

'' '' '' 6 60%

Readiness 63.4%

I did not feel too confident with my scores ( especially since our school had a bad reputation for having low nclex pass rate in my area) so I decided to review Saunders Comp. for 6 weeks...scores ranged from 70-80. while reviewing saunders I took the Kaplan nclex sample tests, scores were:

Sample nclex 1 64%

'' '' '' 2 60%

'' '' '' 3 80%

Also, I recently purchased the PDA book and I loved it, I am almost finish with it and I think it will improved my weak areas with priority types questions, score ranges 57%-82%, low % at first, but now improving, I would recommed this book to everyone who is reviewing for nclex. Also, I just took the tainer 7 from Kaplan and scored 70%, I really think this book helped.

I think I will continue to only practice questions now until next week and review the study guide I recieved from here. Will update if I passed or fail.

I think you are ready. Your scores look fine. Just don't over do it! A few practice Q's every day, relax and do nothing the day before, good night's sleep and you will be ready to pass!

Good luck!!
