Nclex Results:big Or Small Envelope

by JMMJ

I heard many different things, some people say big envelope means you passed and some if you get small one you passed. Did anybody from California get their results in mail recently? Does anyone know for sure which one is true?

I took NCLEX for California back in late 2005, and my passing result arrived in a small, skinny envelope.

From what Ive heard big means fail and small means pass... but thinking about it logically, if you fail then they probably resend the necessary papers to reapply and pay fees? who knows though, Im just sick of this weight on my shoulders!

Nurse Re: Nclex Results:big Or Small Envelope
I just took the LPN NCLEX this past Wednesday (Jan 30, 2008). I looked on the Ohio board of nursing website on Thurs and discovered that I passed, Woo-hoo! Yesterday (Saturday) I received a LARGE envelope that contained my license and a diploma suitable for framing.
Again, this is Ohio and from what I understand other states may not be as quick to post.

My computer shut off at 85, two of my classmates stated that their computer shut off at 85 as well. They both passed.

Good Luck!

Hello there!

I just recently received my nclex results in the mail not too long ago. And YES, i'm from California, and YES.....it came in a BIG white envelope.I've heard different stories about if it's small you pass, if it's big you failed. So when I received my letter, after such a long wait, it came in a big white envelope. My first thought was that I failed, I didn't even want to open it. My hands were shaking hold that envelope. But sooner or later I had to anyway, so I did......and with my heart beating so fast, I didn't even read the whole letter, I just looked for the words "PASSED" And I did (Thank God). After you receive your results, it also has other papers that you have to mail back to the state inorder to receive your actual license, so maybe that's why it came in a big envelope.....BUT, I also had some friends that sadly didn't pass, their letter also came in a big white envelope, and they also had papers that needed to be sent out to retake the test. So far the people that i've known to have passed or failed the test here in California got their letters in a big envelope. Hoped this helped you out in a way.

I really don't believe big means fail because my friend got a big envelope and passed. I got a small envelope and passed.

Rainscape, it's good to know that the results are that fast in Ohio. That's where I am and I won't be taking the test for another year (I'm only in my second quarter of a 7 quarter LPN program) but I am so glad to hear that you received your results so quickly!! Congrats to all that passed, by the way, hopefully next year I'll be one of the people posting that wonderful news!!!

I took my NCLEX a couple months ago in Ca and I got a big envelope and I failed and my friend passed and she had a big envelope to. So it might depend on the state you live in!

You Can Always Call Your State Board Office And Find Out Over The Phone Instead Of Waiting For An Envelope....because I Would Never Open It, I Would Just Stand There And Look At It....lol:d
