Nclex is my worst nightmare

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So I've been preparing for this exam almost like preparing for the coming of the rapture. IF only Nclex was made easier. Are the Nclex ladies for real? Honestly I would love to meet the Nclex lady or ladies smh frustration is an understatement at this point. I guess if you work Nclex is not for you! Like how am I suppose to study effectively after doing 8hrs and go home to take care of my little one. And is it just me but the Nclex books have some errors as well? It's totally ridiculous!

I cannot wait to get this ridiculous test over and done with. I'm dying over here with the LPN syndrome. Mind you I'm a proud LPN because it beats sticking up some old lady and rob her of her purse. But my goodness why does the majority act as if being an LPN is like catching some rare incurable disease.

So so here I am trying to do the NCLEX because I'm so tired of this disease that I have. Like pay me already because I'm doing the work of an RN but being labeled with the LPN disease. Go figure!! As I'm going through NCLEX and her ever so annoying questions and rationales. Some make sense and some just don't cut it. Like who put together some of these answers. Ok my advice is if you're not so sharp anymore please give the job to someone else that has a sharper brain and can really make sense. I mean in the real world of nursing some of this stuff don't even apply. But am I he only one truly finding mistakes. I know we are suppose to think critically but goodness pay me as well then. Because naturally you're telling me you want a physician assistant with less pay. You could tell that I have issues on this matter here. And guess what when I do pass that NCLEX RN guess what disease I'm gonna have next? The BSN or the MSN disease!! Yep! And maybe after that someone might ask me why didn't I become a doctor. Because naturally that's what we do as nurses! Clean up the mess for doctors and suggest meds for the ailment or what labs that needed to be done. So I'm really thinking why even bother with NCLEX lady and her bag of tricks. Cannot wait to get rid of HER! Smh

Why in the world should NCLEX be made easier?!? Its hard for a reason. Not everyone should be a nurse, and if someone cant critically think through a question, then they likely will have trouble in real world nursing. NCLEX is perfect world nursing. Just because some of the questions might have answers that are not what is actually done, it is based on what is supposed to be done. The questions are not just made by a lady or two. The questions are developed by quite a few people, men included, that are then tested for a while before making into the actual NCLEX test. The practice books are good for study, but they can have some errors in them and not be as high quality as official NCLEX questions. But by doing quite a few of them, you will get the concept that is trying to be tested.

Many people work and have kids and survive both nursing school and passing NCLEX just fine. Just do the best you can to study. If you paid attention in school and did well, you should be able to do just fine on NCLEX. Studying now should not be re learning everything. If you were passing NCLEX style exams in school, this will not be any different.

Lastly, just because you and the RNs are doing the same thing, the RN gets paid more because they have a broader scope and higher level of education. I am not knocking LPNs. There are some great ones where I work and when I graduate in December will be part of the team that help teach me as a new grad. RNs are paid for their education level. Not necessarily because they do more than an LPN in some facilities.

Once you pass the NCLEX you will get paid for that degree like the rest of the RNs out there. But it sounds like you have a lot of resentment. Ignore those who don't value your current education level. If you are happy in your role, then screw everyone else. You do you.

If you are already doing the work of an RN as you say, the NCLEX should be easy for you.

If you are a nurse long enough, there will be many more tests to take along the way to maintain or advance your career. There is a huge push for certification in Magnet hospitals and some of those tests can be hard as well as expensive.

I think you are over-reacting to the stress and blowing the whole thing out of proportion. It's just a test -- no harder than a lot of tests you have already taken in your life. Take it and get it over with ... and move on.

Well......ok....do you feel better now? 'Cause the original post sounds a little like "Dear Diary" ;)

I definitely had that moment when studying for the NCLEX. I was not a LPN like you are first so I did not have the knowledge to back me up but I still felt overwhelmed with a little one and husband at home. Surely the NCLEX makers were evil beings and the writers of the books their minions. Maybe I'm wrong but it's seems like you had a mini melt down and you will be ready to jump back on the horse now that you have vented your frustrations. It's ok many of us have been in your shoes.

Thank you Ebrooks1013 you know exactly how I feel. I sure did vent and I was totally pumped today when I was studying. I'm not a quitter and never will. Thanks for some of the feedback it kinda make me see why I really need to do this. Some of the comments might not be so supportive but hey who cares. This is a forum!

Are you being reprimanded by a cna. No shade but Smh until you are in the same shoes, no one can relate. We will be successful. Let's speak it into existence, because when God says yes, it will be done. Plus u already know the material so that & God's favor should be good. Next time is the real finaleí ½í¸‰

Ebonyprincess, are you referring to me as the reprimanding CNA. Because it is pretty ignorant to assume I don't know the struggle. I am a final semester nursing student who will be taking NCLEX-RN in roughly 4-5 mos. So yes. I am in those same shoes. If you were not referring to me, then my bad for misinterpreting, but at the same time that part of your post now doesn't make sense.
