If a patient is under STANDARD precautions and their linen gets soiled with blood or bodily fluids, is it necessary to wear a gown when changing the linen? Standard precautions say if "splashing of blood or bodily fluids is likely." Although it technically isn't "splashing" you could still get contaminated right? So would wearing a gown be 'technically' correct (studying for the NCLEX)?

If the sheets are dripping in blood then maybe, but under normal circumstances gloves should be fine if your not rolling around in the bloody sheets.
