  1. Yes I have completed the HURST review, and used three other resources provided by my school. I haven't found anything this specific so I figured I would ask experienced nurses.
  2. If a patient is under STANDARD or CONTACT precautions, is it necessary to wear facial protection (mask, goggles, face shield, etc.) during oral care? Facial protective equipment is to be used when "splashes and sprays" are likely. Would this include 'technically' oral care (studying for the NCLEX)?
  3. If a patient is under STANDARD precautions and their linen gets soiled with blood or bodily fluids, is it necessary to wear a gown when changing the linen? Standard precautions say if "splashing of blood or bodily fluids is likely." Although it technically isn't "splashing" you could still get contaminated right? So would wearing a gown be 'technically' correct (studying for the NCLEX)?
