Ohh so that's why it takes so long! A committee literally has to sit and approve everything! Sheesh I wish it didn't take so long! I also wish NJ was one of the states that let you practice as a student nurse oh well what's a couple more weeks when we passed the test! Wahoooo

You can't practice as a student nurse? Funny but yesterday I got my letter to practice as a GN it's good for 6 months. LOL no I don't need it! And yes we did it!!

poky, well bless Florida's heart, b/c NJ's Board does not do that. LOL! We have 2 wait.

NJ hasn't offered GN/temp permits for at least 15 years now. There has been a backlog for a while now. Most states that offer temp permits won't release the temp permit or the ATT until the background check is clear. NJ will let you sit the NCLEX/issue ATT while you wait for your fingerprint appointment/background check.

That's awesome! Florida seems to do things fast, congrats nurse
Louisiana is fast also. Pretty much as soon as our school confirms our graduation to the state board, they approve temp licenses for us to work under RN supervision until we pass the NCLEX.

Results are quick also. I took the test yesterday at 1pm. Been getting the good pop-up, and today at 1:30pm the Louisiana State Board website changed my license from temp to RN even though on PearsonVue it still says my "exam results are not available at this time." :)

Congrats on your good pop-up as well!

Oh. That sucks.

tell me about it, but either way I am thankful to be an RN. a few extra weeks will not kill me. besides as an RN, I need to have patience :sarcastic:

They don't approve everything prior to you getting approved to even take the exam? Geesh.......

i took boards in Florida yesterday morning, my "application" status is expired (it is good til this November 2014) so was hoping that meant I passed boards (it did shut off at 75 questions) and btw-i think questions at Kaplan were good but watched all the question/classroom first, didn't do lesson 8, and thought questions most helpful--I'm 2 years from graduation and just now took boards 1st time so I needed Kaplan. Anyway, if FL BON shows application expired, could that mean I passed, as my license # wouldn't be up for weeks I'd think; PearsonVue QuickResults not available yet either. Just wondering if application status 'expired' means anything?

I see this is old but my NJ lic. Checklist is complete except for the "board/committee approval" line. Idk if I passed nclex, my 48 hours is up at 1pm tomorrow but on my requirement checklist on the BON Website next to "NCLEX-RN" it says "Completed" with todays date. Does that mean I passed the test but the board still has to review it further? I did have a defaulted student loan issue...could that hold up approval?

If you didn't cure your student loan default you will be denied a nursing license until you fix it per federal regulations. Completed means they received the results nothing more. BoN reviews all applications before issuing licenses, including discipline, defaulted loans, application, school transcript, background report and NCLEX results

Thank you. Yes, it was settled and I've been paying it on time via automatic payment.
