Kaplan Qbank Nclex Scores

Mine is about then too! I'm studying a lot of content so I thought my qbank scores would be better! Kaplan is so hard to gauge which I guess is good since the NCLEX is all about that!!

Yesterday, I got a 72% with 50 unused questions on all areas and really, really thought I was doing horribly so I was shocked when I saw my score and so happy!

Pride cometh before a fall as I got a 60% using the same parameters today!!

I used Saunders to start then Kaplan. That was it. There is a 35 pg NCLEX notes document floating around here that is worth some time. I did 50-75 qbank quizzes in timed mode, the tutor mode made me crazy so I suggest taking the quiz then review the rational. I started a binder with all the notes of stuff I learned through Kaplan rationale and Saunders. Took NCLEX and passed in 75q in less than an hr. There is just no way to know it all but you will be amazed how much you will learn just taking quiz after quiz. I did 200-400q per day.

I've been doing Kaplan review too and like to share how I've been doing. I've did consistently good on the Kaplan Q Bank but am a little worried about the SATA questions. My Q bank score is 65% average (I did all of the questions including the 4 sample RN exams). I did really badly on the last sample RN exam with only SATA questions, I got a 30% on it. I was freaking out after seeing the score, but I think I did so badly because I was tired. I took the 6 hr. 265 questions of Question trainer 7 in the same day and my brain started to shut down while I was trying to take the last sample exam.

Here are my Q trainer scores:

Diagnostic test: 70%

Q trainer 1: 67%

Q trainer 2: 72%

Q trainer 3: 62%

Q trainer 4: 67%

Q trainer 5: 72%

Q trainer 6: 68%

Q trainer 7: 73%

Readiness exam: 77%

I keep seeing people saying that as long as you can over 60% on the question trainers, you have a good chance at passing the NCLEX. Some people with scores in the 50s range passed their exams so I guess we too have a good change at passing. I guess the only thing for us to do now is to stay calm, envision our futures as nurses, and stay focus on the exam.

P.S. I love that 35 page study guide. It helps me remember the tier precautions that I always forget. Whoever did and posted it, thank you so much!

Hi guys! I used the kaplan program as well in passing my exam (just found out today by the way) last Jul 19 at 2pm with 75 questions in 2 hours. I had 18 SATAs, 7 drag & drops, 2 exhibits & more of prioritization & delegation. (LaCharity's PDA case management reviewer was really helpful too). I even had lower scores than you guys in some question trainers XD So great job guys! Here are some of my tips:

>brush up on procedures & skills coz they came out in my DDs

>take notes of the things you didn't get right for reviewing with your practice tests :)

>always focus on case management when you review so you get the whole idea of the patho of the disease, treatment plan, some meds, nursing considerations & most esp what to look out for

>the Qbank greatly helped me get the feel of the actual Nclex so think through all the questions even if you're just practicing & apply whatever you know & all strategies you learned while doing so

> Lastly, believe in yourself that you can do it so DON'T CHANGE your answers unless you're really sure that they're wrong.

Yay, congrats Tanz! Thanks for the tips! I will keep them in mind. I hate SATAs and drag and drops. I'm really weak on those as well as on procedures. I will be going over them before the test.

I got a question for those using q bank, when you complete one bank of questions and get the initial grade do they allow you to retake those questions as many times as you like?

Yes, you can take the question trainers again as many times as you want. You would need to click on the question trainer that you want to retake and click start (as you would if you are taking it for the first time).

As for the Q bank, you just need to create a new test, you need to unclick the Unused radio button on where it says 2. Question Reused Mode. If you already did all of the questions and want to redo them, you can click on All Items radio button. If you only wanted to redo the questions that you got wrong, then click on the Incorrect Only radio button. Hope that helps.

Did you do the Readiness again? I think that I remember my Kaplan Classroom Review instructor talking about calling them to unlock something to redo something.

Also, I need to do the 75 questions again not 50. I did 75 twice in my scores went a lot lower so that freaked me out!

I did all 1300 questions in Kaplans qbank and ended up with a cumulative score of 63%. The next day after finishing I took my nclex RN and passed in 50 mins and 75 questions. I felt that kaplan prepared me extremely well. I also did PrepU nclex 10000 which was good as well but there is a reason the qbank costs what it does. Because it works! Good luck!
