Please tell me how to pass Nclex Rn, I have tried everything

Specializes in Intake, Home Care.

Define "everything"

My study schedule:

Take the Saunder's Diagnostic Test before you touch anything.

Print and follow Sauders study schedule

PLEASE BUY THIS BOOK: [h=1]Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment, 3rd Edition

[/h]Linda A. LaCharity, PhD, RN, Candice K. Kumagai, RN, MSN and Barbara Bartz, RN, MN, CCRN

Do every question in lacharity and understand the rationale to each and every question. This book saved my butt for the exam. Most of the questions were worded similarly to the nclex

Lots of questions on infection control...PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS WEBSITE INSIDE AND OUT CDC - 2007 Isolation Precautions:Appendix A - HICPAC

THE CDC does a great job delineating all the different standard to transmission based precautions. I had more questions on infection control than anything else.

Know lab values-just know which ones appear abnormal.

Look over endocrine system: thyroid, adrenal gland, DI/SIADH, and so forth

Use Kaplan-they have awesome questions to help you prepare for the exam. i would advise kaplan after you finish the saunders study schedule. Do all 7 question trainers and dx text. The q banks were challenging and it helped me through my studies. some people will disagree with kaplan but i believe kaplan questions were way harder than the acutal nclex exam. Stay above 60% and you are good to go.

Remember to study everyday...do not take a few days off and study one than another break...consistency is key.

Tell you how to pass the NCLEX-RN?

Study----understand the material---be able to think through the scenarios....?

How many times have you tried....and what is "everything"?

I didn't do RN but for the PN I did 100 questions a day from the disk that came in the nuclex study books. I did the Kaplan as well but I hardly ever got in the 60's. I think the Kaplan is much harder than the actual nclex, the key is understanding how to answer the questions. I studied for 2-3 weeks and passed on the first try.
