I am mexican, how can i prepare for the nclex test

Hi, greetings to everyone.

I am a mexican nursing student. I am going to be a RN as soon as I finish my last two semesters of school and my social service in Mex. Since I was accepted in the Nursing faculty of my Sate's university I have been studying hard to someday work in the U.S. I have learned english on my own and I am one of the best students in the whole university. As I know I can't go to the U.S. as a registered nurse if I do not pass the NCLEX test and here in México it is so hard to get guiding material to prepare myself for the exam. That is why I want you to help me... how can I get the content of some helpful material like Prentice Hall and Kaplan. I do not have a laptop so it is hard for me to keep studying on a computer so I would be so thankful with you if you help me. I want to participate to reduce the increasing shortage of nursing professional in the U.S. and to have a better lifestyle that unfortunately it is hard for a mexican registered nurse to find here. For a start I suggest you read some of the other forums as currently many many new grads in the US as well as seasoned nurses are struggling to find a job so you may find it just as hard if not harder finding employer willing to assist with a NAFTA visa.

Resources like Saunders 4th edition comprehensive review book, Kaplan etc you can buy from Amazon or any other good book shops

Well, I don't have idea about how hard it is for a nurse to find a job in the U.S. but here in Mexico if you don't work for a burocratic institution you may never have a good salary and you don't have an idea how hard it is for me to work in such institutions because I do not have any relative working there and the job market opens applications recruitment about once every 6 years. Anyway, I have heard about many job offers in southern U.S. for bilingual nurses because many clients only speak spanish so I am preparing myself to work as a bilingual R-nurse. I trust myself and I know I'll get the job I want but, the hardest thing for me now that I have not finished my degree is to nkow how to start to prepare myself for the NCLEX, I ll find out about the editorial you told me about TY.:)

Suggest you look at the Saunders Comprehensive Review for preparing for the NCLEX. Good luck with your plans.

Hi I am quite sad because I had the TOEFL today and I feel I did not do so good. Something good is that I have learned that I will not always get what I want, I learned what it is like to fail at times and other good thing is that I saw some of my weaknesses at english, so I know where to start my studying plans. Thank you very much.:rolleyes:

By now it is like an impossible goal to be ready for the NCLEX RN but I know that as babies slowly learn to stand and walk, someday I will be able to take and pass my NCLEX RN. and I will acheve one of my primary goals, to migrate from MEX. Thanks. I ll be here to tell you about it :) bye bye

Hi Jose Maria!

I am from Colombia, I graduated 8 years ago and came to USA almost 6 years ago. Will be taking NCLEX on March 26. For us as international educted nurse it is more diffucult to pass the test. I will recomend you buy Sounders 4th edition and kaplan.

Thank you for your answer, I know it is more difficult for latin people to pass that test. But I will keep studying. I do not know how many times I ll have to take the test,it will not be soon when I have my first try. thank you bye bye.;)

How are you doing right now? It’s been a bit now. I’ve been an RN SINCE 2015
