How to defeat the NCLEX- RN's SATA questions!!:(

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I graduated 6 yrs ago and had good jobs(not nursing). I'm a foreign educated nurse by the way. But my love for nursing is always there. So I decided to study and take it. I took it last May 30 and I failed. I was so discouraged and a little depressed. I just had too many SATAs..Any suggestions how to deal or overcome these questions? I hope there is a review center that will make you attend everyday for 3 months and have lectures and exams to help me refresh the concepts. My mind and heart is set to become an RN. :)

Specializes in Psychiatry, Community Health.

I used Saunders CD, and did exams formatted to use only the SATA to get myself ready. I had tons of SATA and felt comfortable with them. Good Luck!

@Lane007 thanks! yeah i figured out that by answering a lot of SATAs will make me comfortable :)

thanks @Lane007! i will do that!:)

hi i'm also scared on SATA questions but as long as you practice and know your content your good. when in doubt dont choose it. i used the saunder's practice questions on SATA and the nclex 3500 as well. when i took the exam i'm really nervous on the SATA but i keep on answering... you can do it.. pray sure it works 100%! by the way i also graduated 6 years ago from the philippines.. i attended excell nursing review in california drove all the way from washington state. :)

How does the excell nursing review in california goes? how long is the review? do you have classes everyday? Because I think that helps a lot plus answering online questions :)

the MS was great.. had lots of concepts i completely understood that i didn't back in college lol.. its a 10 day review class..

Someone suggested from previous thread on looking given choices as either TRUE or FALSE. That seems to work for me. After analyzing each choices, ask if its T or F.

how was your nclex experience? Did you make it?:)

This is the best advice. Look at each option individually. And don't pay any attention to how many choices you check. I chose only one option for 2 different SATA questions on my boards a couple weeks ago. One of them I wasn't positive, but the other was a topic I knew VERY well and it was definitely only the one answer. Either way, I had about 50% SATA and I passed with 75 questions so something went right. Good luck!

Thanks for replying! Yeah its like for my first 75-80 questions, sata pops in every other number. I have to study nursing content more and do a lot of sata questions practice :)
