Daily Study Until NCLEX DAY TUESDAY ! =D

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Okay so I officially have 3 days left until the determining day of my life!!!...Tuesday I will be taking the NCLEX examination for the first time!..Up until today I have been doing nothing but questions and reviewing rationales mainly through Kaplan and some on flashcards that I received from my preceptor.

Today I started a little late and did Qtrainer #7 which was 265 questions I finished with 50 minutes left on the clock and a score of 72.45% which I feel pretty good about at this point because I understand the rationales and why I picked the answers I did.

I plan to go over those rationales again and also review other rationales from the other qtrainers and qbank questions that I have done. I have a lot to cram into these next two days because I am going to take Monday off to relax and not stress too much. I plan to get my toes & eyebrows done, watch a movie and get a good nights rest...(but who knows I'll probably still be studying out of habit lol)

I will be updating this as the days go on about what I am doing to get ready for the BIG DAY!!!...

All I ask is to include me in your prayers and I also want to say thank to everyone out there who has given me advice and uplifting words allowing me to feel that much more comfortable about taking the NCLEX!!

The main things to remember with antibiotics:

1. Do NOT take with foods except cephalosporins and sulfonamides. Cephaplosporins take with MILK!

2. People on birth control need to use a barrier method.

3. Check for Penicillin allergy to any -cillin or CEPHALOSPORIN! (cross rx)

4. Vancomycin: ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity! Also "red man" syndrome from histamine release

5. Tetracycline: no for breastfeed and children under 8. Photosensitivity

6. Ciprofloxacin: no for breast feed and under 18.

7. EDUCATION: Always complete the therapy even if patient feels better!

Those are my take away "important" nursing facts about antibiotics. I hope it helps!! You're going to be fine, really!

Do you have any other main take aways from other drug classes this one was really good thanks

Thank you everyone for the tips. I too take my test on 15th at 8am. I've been doing Saunders only and I'm really hoping that was enough. This stress is too much! Good luck to you guys :-)

So today didnt actually go as planned lol... I actually took it kind of easy....

>I reviewed the rationales for Qtrainer 7 which took me a while...

>I also started reviewing the medication section in the 'RN Course Book' from Kaplan.

I am not quite done with that though..I will be reviewing meds from Saunders which I think is set up a little more appealing to learn from but that is just in my opinion.

Tomorrow will be my last day of STUDYING for content...OMGosh you guys (Maria L, C H I C A G O_RN, and VeronikaRN) we have only 2 days left!!! THINGS JUST GOT REAL lol

I will pray on things tonight and for the next few nights for us! We can do this and we all will soon have that RN behind our names!!!

I haven't really been "studying" for pharm I just have been looking things up as I go from the qbank and qtrainers.
Thank you I will be praying for us both! :) If you don't mind me asking - what time do you take yours (mine is 8 am Pacific time)? I will be wishing you the best. I am going to keep working on reviewing content tonight & today I took QT 7 and got 78% so I'm feeling a bit better. Tomorrow I'll take the readiness exam, see where I sit.
I think you will be fine and sound more than ready my school uses kaplan as a resource and said that 60% or higher for trainers are a good indicator that you're ready. What did you make on trainer 6 i made 67 haven't took trainer 7 yet
