Can I take the Nclex

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I live in Oklahoma. Passing grades for most of the programs around here are from 74-76%. I attend ITT Breckinridge School of Nursing and their passing grade is 80%. I know of several students who have received 72%, some 76% and have been able to send their transcript to BON to sit for PN-Nclex with no diploma. I failed my final which is 33% of our grade and my grade dropped to a 77.5%. I am waiting on the BON to return my phone call but thought I might be able to get some answers here. My question is can I send in my transcript and sit for the Nclex? I would assume that I can since others can do it for the PN-Nclex. Anyone have any idea? Thanks!!

You would need to confirm for sure with your BON, but most states will only let people take NCLEX is they have passed a nursing program

I wouldn't count on it. Generally, in order to take NCLEX you need to graduate from a nursing program.

I *think* what you're referring to is when (certain) States allow someone who has completed 1/2 to 3/4 of an RN program to take the NCLEX-PN. Thing is, one must be in good standing at their current school and have successfully passed all the curriculum requirements for the PN exam in order to take it.

It doesn't sound like you'd qualify, since you have failed your program. How much of it have you completed, and were you above passing up until just now?
