75 questions and no more than 10 Sata questions

Hi everyone! I took the dreaded NCLEX -RN today. I received 75 questions and approximately 7-10 select all that apply. I'm panicking because my other classmates that passed had around 30 Sata questions. I felt lost in each question and walked out feeling that I failed. With my PN boards I passed with the minimum amount of questions, but also had over 25 SATA. I have a job pending I pass and I don't have the money on my card to try the PVT. Has anyone passed with 75 questions and less than 10 Sata? And has anyone failed in similar scenario? I had quite a few prioritization questions, no med calculations, no ecg, or other alternative format questions. I reviewed using lippincott alternate format questions book and nclex rn app. I graduated in May.

Don't freak out! I took the test last week and passed at 75 questions. I thought I BOMBED the exam. I didn't get any med calculations and only had like 7-10 SATAs.

Thank you so much! It's good to know that it's possible to pass without a ton of Sata! my state board of Nursing website is usually updated within 24 hours so I should know later today thank you for sharing your storY!

The number of any format of questions anyone gets has NOTHING to do with how they are doing, and whether or not they pass or fail.

SATA is nothing more than an alternative format of question. You can pass and fail with one or a hundred. Means NOTHING.

People seem to focus on the number of SATA or alternate format questions they get. 75ish questions is the easiest to "guess" if you passed or not. You passed your PN exam at the minimum number, so you understood the content and how to answer NCLEX questions.

There are only three possibilities once you reach 75 questions: It stops (you passed) because it determined that with 95% certainty that you are competent to be a nurse (you did very well in nursing school); it stops (you failed) because no matter how many questions it gives you, you would not pass (you barely passed nursing school); or you continue to get more questions (it can't determine, yet, if you are competent). Forget about the types of questions and focus on the probability of you passing. Did you do very well in nursing school? If so then there is a very high probability that you passed, otherwise it would have given you more questions.

I did do well in nursing school. I made the dean's list twice. I did not struggle with exams like some of my other classmates and I always felt like I was a good test taker. however this exam made me feel otherwise I do believe a part of it was because I was expecting to get more select all that apply because I have heard it means you are doing well. thank you for clarifying that it is just a format. I'm hoping to have my results in the next few hours like my other classmates who passed and had an email sent to them 24 hours later

did you try the Pearson Trick? I am in the same boat. It shut off at 75 and I feel like a got a lot of basic questions. Did you find out yet?

I passed! I was listed on my states website 24 hours later. Guess is true! Every test is different and SATA does not mean anything! Good luck to you!

I took NCLEX yesterday (July 7th) and it shut off at 77 questions. I had a lot of prioritization & delegation. I did have more SATA, but as RNsRWe said, the quantity of SATA doesn't matter, it's the quality (difficulty) of the question and if you answered them correctly. I only had 1 med math question. No alternate format or ECG questions.

The waiting is the hardest part, isn't it??? I'm going to be stalking the PV page until my Quick Results are available tomorrow! :D

Check your states website. Mine updates every hour. I was able to search my name and I'm listed as a registered nurse 24 hours later!
