Need to find a nursing school near Mount Clemens

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hi, we are a military family and will be relocated next July. Unfortunately, we have been given 16 different states as potential residences.

Can someone point me in the right direction of an accredited college with a nursing program? I would like to stay the community college route but, am open to looking into a University. I currently live in Oregon and have completed all of their required pre-requisites for the local community colleges. However, all states are different and I am struggling to complete this vast amount of research in order to use the upcoming fall term as effectively as possible. If you are familiar with this area and could provide me with some local schools and a link to their nursing program I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

Wow, 16 states is a very wide range of possibliites. When will you find out for sure? Even within my area (metro detroit) there is quite a difference between schools. The school nearest Mt Clemens may not even fit your needs, so dont be afraid to drive just a little bit. If you know where you would be stationed you may want to make a 30- 40 mile perimeter and that could help you narrow your school choice down a bit more.

Yeah, it is really difficult especially when you are unfamiliar with the area. All I know is that he will be working in Mt. Clemens. So, as you stated I would be looking at about a 30mile perimeter from there.

Macomb Community College (macomb.edu), is very close to Mt. Clemens, and so are most of the clinical sites (I go there so I am biased, but its a great program).

Other options not too far from there are: Baker College, Oakland Community College, St. Clair Community College....

I agree with CorazonDeOro, Macomb Community College has the best nursing program. I did check out St. Clair also and they too have a great program but I would have had to pay out of county rates. If you will be living in Macomb County (I assume your husband would be at SANG?) then MCC offers the lowest tuition. I don't know first hand but have heard that Baker's tuition is much higher.

Good Luck to you!
