...Thankfully!!! I was all ready to be in bed on time last night...get a good nights sleep...be well rested...ect. Then on the way to dinner my boyfriend was driving my car and noticed (right away thankfully) that my breaks were shot! (which they hadn't been the day before)

Sooo....bright and early this morning after a bad night sleep (due to first day of school and car being messed up thoughts) had to wake up early. He drove my car there and I got him in his car. I tried to sleep another hour...but did not...then I started getting ready for school and we went out to breakfast.

Luckily and amazingly!!!...the car place had my car fixed by 11:15am for quite a cheap price (which is good since I would have had a bit of a problem getting home from school!) Not only did I have a leak in my break tube thing (ha I'm tired I can't remember the name) I also had barley any oil in my car (my car hates me!!!) and they fixed my heat (that had been broken since Christmas)...all of this in 3 hours!!!! I was so glad!!!

Then I got to go to class...which was the easy part...and the hard part since I was pretty tired by than! After that I went to psy 253 which thankfully he did not keep us long! All I can say is thankfully I do NOT have class tomorrow so I can sleep in!!!! All right...off to get a day planner since I am not a huge fan of the calender they gave us (for the details of things) Then sleep...well eventually! Yay for nursing school!

I'm more impressed with the boyfriend taking care of you and making sure you're safe and have what you need to succeed. He sounds like a winner.

Don't you love when luck finds you?? You had several breaks in a row - sounds like a good omen!!

All the luck in nursing school - work hard, stay on top of it, and you will be OK.

Oh yes...he is defiantly wonderful!...and is not going anywhere :-) The funny part was he was so happy that he was the one that found it when he did...he was so afraid that I would have found it and crashed! And at least I figure since the 1st day was so stressful...every thing else should be a piece of cake (well somewhat of course ha)

Definately sounds like you have a keeper on your hands :). My husband is like that, he always makes sure my vehicle is in good running order and gassed up :1luvu: .

So how was your first day? Do you only have one nursing class? Did you leave inspired :pumpiron:or scared ?

Ha wow yours puts gas in your car too??? I wish mine did that...if we drove my car more he would but since we usually take his car everywhere I have to get gas on my own when I'm not with him :-p

No I have 2 classes for nursing...and then developmental psy as well. No I wasn't scared. I was more stressed about my dumb car then school itself :-p Plus I feel like we are still in the "this is how you are going to do what you are supposed to do when we get to it" stages and not the actually doing it part ha. Plus it helps that I'm still in the new stage cause I'm like woo hoo homework! And it's interesting to have all the different things to look at...I'm sure in about a week I will be like eww I hate homework! :)

Okay, you are way too calm, which school are you going to? I thought we were all supposed to walk out of class the first day talking ourselves into returning ;). I've been doing my reading assignments for my first week and I have to say it's all Greek to me, like the sequence of what we need to know isn't correct (Hopefully my first lecture will make it all a little clearer). It doesn't seem right to jump right into how to restrain people when I've never even done vitals yet! I'm going to have to learn how to priortize my reading assignments so they make more sense.

I know what you mean, the material is killing me :D so much to read...esp. when 1 chapter can be 100+ pages!

I'm going to try eating while I read. Maybe that will inspire me :smiletea:. Oh wait, that could backfire when the chapters are 50+ pages each! Maybe I can convince myself I'm reading for pleasure.

Ha I go to HFCC. It is a lot of reading too. I find that reading and then watching some tv and then read more. But make sure that you are not too interested in the show or that its short...I just got the tv show American Dreams season 1 on dvd and its 40 mins long so I watch part of the episode and then pause it. Ha I am sure it probably doesn't work for everyone but it keeps my stress down ha.

you all seem calmer that i was my first day. anursetobe09 where are you going to school, my school wouldn't allow you to start until you've become a cna first.

as much as stuff seems overwhelming in the beginning before you know it it'll all be fitting together and making sense, just stay organized!
