About JasonPB22

JasonPB22 has 10 years experience.

Well, where to begin? I went to UConn as an undergraduate and got my BA in behavioral neuroscience. I worked in research for a few years after, then went to a theological school for ministry, capping my seminary education with a Master of Theology from Harvard. In 2010 I accepted that ministry was not for me, nor could I make a living sufficient to provide for my family in the field. I went to work in the non-profit field helping adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries and kids with developmental and often co-morbid behavioral challenges. Rewarding work, but once again I found it very hard to make ends meet. Then, last autumn, a wonderful friend introduced me to the nursing field and the accelerated BNS programs in my area. The more I learned about work a nurse does, the different specialties and opportunities for helping, the more I felt it was the perfect way to pursue my desire to do some good for the world and finally achieve job security. Right now, I'm considering the BNS programs at UConn, St. Joseph's University, and Quinnipiac University, and most interested in PICU work. I'm a single dad and my daughter comes first in all things. One of the reasons I'd like to work in this field is so that I can give her everything she deserves - good schools, travel, a college fund, and so on. I'm working as a CO babysitting our nation's prison population right now and saving for school.

Well I'm late to this party but I will be applying for the 2016 CEIN. From what I've been told, there's no point applying if you miss the January deadline. I'm going to finish my pre-reqs over this summer and next fall and be completely ready to subm...
