Bristol Community Collge Nursing Program Fall 2012

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hello, I was just wondering if there is anyone else on here that is currently waiting to get an acceptance letter to Bristol Community College's Nursing Program for Fall 2012?

Thanks kmmo! that makes me feel alot better! Hopefully we all find out sooner than later!

Kmmo don’t get disheartened. I started taking my prereq’s in fall of 2011 and before I knew it, they were all done and then some in about a year. There is also another 24ish spots open for the e-nursing program in New Bedford. I think that the information sessions really help so does the degreeworks program because it lets me see what else I would need if nursing was my major ya know?

I was going to do the LPN program and went through all the steps and was going to start it but then I thought, if I am going to spend all of this time and money....I am better off just going back to college and thats what I ended up doing.

I applied for the LPN because I figured why not. I have a Bachelor's degree already, but in English and now I decided to go for nursing. I applied at Umass Dartmouth and Rhode Island College...RIC said it has some pre-reqs. but Umass doesn't, unless I went for the accelerated program, which I am not. I doubt either of those schools will accept me, so I applied for the LPN as well, and for OTA at BCC.

I applied for the LPN because I have a few friends who are LPNs and they said I should do that, work in a LTC for a year and then go do the bridge program because then at least I can be working and if for some reason I fail a class...I am still working, know what I mean? Im not super excited about it, but its an option.

If I get into the OTA program, I have to take A&P during it anyway, so I figure I can apply for nursing next year..

My last option, if I cant get in ANYWHERE for this year, is to take teh CNA course at BCC..get a job as a CNA and take my pre-reqs on the side so I can be ready for next year. I just want to get started. My biggest problem when I was going for teaching originally, is that I didnt give myself time to volunteer, or take a low paying job as an aide, or anything. I had NO connections to any school or school system. And it really is who you know in teaching...

I have a feeling a lot can be true for Nursing. I need to get my feet wet and maybe being a CNA will help, or at least it may help me decide whether its what I want to do or not..

Lots to think about.

Your right, that is a lot to think about. I have a friend who is going to school for teaching and I made it a point to mention to her that my aunt is a principal and that if she needed any time in the classroom to let me know, so I could mention it to her. I thought about going the CNA route and ended up becoming a phlebotomist instead...the pay is better.

so this time last year is when people's degreeworks changed to state that their major was nursing.....did anyone's change??

Nothing changed. Hopefully they send the letters out prior to vacation next week!!

Mine hasn't changed either, and the last audit date is the same still.

mines still the same. no new audits. last audit was done on 2/24

Same audit date for mine too! Who knows they may have realized about degree works and don't update it. Hoping this week letters come out!

My last audit was 2/24 as well. The thought of them catching on to the degreeworks has crossed my mind too. That would be great if they sent it out before vacation. My anxiety is through the roof right now. lol I remember reading that the people who got their acceptance letters last year had seen a change in their degreeworks on 3/7 so I was wondering if it would be the same this year.
