hi all,

Just put my application in to Quincy College today for their PT ADN program--Spring 2009 start. I have a BA in another field, been taking prereqs (have completed Gen BIO and Gen CHM, currently taking A&P I and A&P II this semester). Anyone else applying for Spring 2009? Seems like an eternity from now, but then again, when I put October 1st on my calendar back in the spring, that seemed like an eternity, and here we are already!! :)

Go somewhere else. The place is a pit and you definely DO NOT get your monies worth. Do you want to graduate and not know what you are doing? You would be setting yourself up for a patient to sue you. RUN THE OTHER WAY

You must have had a bad experience at Quincy College. To the OP, I graduated from the PT ADN program January 07, passed the NCLEX and now work at a large Boston teaching hospital. I felt the education really prepared me for the NCLEX, and nursing in general. The school has a 96% NCLEX pass rate 4th highest in the state. Now the price of the school is rather high among community colleges, but I needed an evening program so had no choice but to pay. All schools have there issues.

Hi guys,

I am starting Quincy College - tomorrow!!! I'm doing the part-time RN Program, so the class is 4-8:30 on Wednesdays and my lab is 8-10PM on Mondays. Clinical starts the end of February. I'm excited and nervous!! Our orientation was way back in August and we received our first reading assignments for the class and lab back then, so I've been pretty much reading the chapter here and there since then. Just took Intro to Computers over the Winter Intersession and took College Math in the Fall. The only other classes I have left to take are English Comp II, Micro, & US History. It'll be tough b/c the part-time program doesn't have the whole summer off, we go back to school in July. I've been taking pre-reqs and classes since Jan. of '04!

Congrats!! I was accepted to start in Jan '09. The pt schedule really works for my life. Keep us posted on how it goes for you? Best of luck!! :)

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience Animal Lover.

I just graduated from the part time ADN program and was pinned last Friday. I had the opposite experience. Although I have not sat for the NCLEX yet, I feel I have been well prepared and our pass rate is right up there with Boston College..not too many other ADN programs have such a high pass rate. My clinical placements were great and the instructors excellent. I could say I have minor complaints about the administration but I have yet to attend a college that does not have any kinks to work out.

Good luck BostonRNtoBe (Sandra, is that you???)

Update - I got in!! I'll be starting the PT ADN program at the Plymouth campus in January 2009.

Hello! BostonRN2B caught my eye and then I found out she is going to QC. I start the FT RN program in Sept...Wicked Nervous, yet excited. I'd love to keep in touch with you and any other QC students to track your progress....

I know I am jumping the gun but...I also have heard rumors about hospitals paying off student loans. Any truth to that? If so where?

I have a question for anyone who is applying or has applied to Quincy College. What does your GPA need to be in order to be considered for the program? Or what have your GPA's been when you applied and got accepted?
