CONGRATULATIONS ERIC! How exciting that you are moving into the nursing world after having a foot in the right direction for so long. I live in Illinois and have heard great things and bad things about every single school in the state (including my own!) but nursing school is what you make of it. Pour yourself into the material and take it seriously. I was a CNA and health ed major before entering nursing school and felt I had a leg up but really I think it hindered the first part of my education in nursing school. I don't know everything and nursing really is more than it seems! I wish you the best of luck. =)

Congratulations! I just got my acceptance letter as well, so it looks like we'll be on the same track - except I'll be the old guy in the class - 48 yo :-) You do have me beat on the dorm living, although I thought it would have been fun to experience it at least once in my life - please share the stories so I can get the picture from you :-)
Best of luck!

Hey everyone! Finally after 4 years and 3-4 rejections, I received my acceptance letter TODAY! I am so excited and wayyy beyond happy! I am going to be starting Western Illinois University in the fall '12, and I might just be the oldest one in the dorms! Just staying in there for one semester just to get my feet planted and to get myself established. I am a 30 yo gay man who is an EMT(4 years at a private ambulance company) and a CNA, for the foot in the door!
Can't wait to get started!!
Eric
