I love my DON and ADON. Couldn't ask for better people to work for. I really can appreciate the incredible stress and responsibility they're under. For any DONs or ADONs that are discouraged, please know you're appreciated!

Lol, I'm sure there are those that are mean and evil. I think most people are so wrapped up in the immediate that they're unable to see the whole picture. Sometimes you have to make decisions and the outcomes aren't ideal, but they're the best that could be done for everyone. Ya'll get a bad rap for that.

Loving -- Sounds like you're in a great place... lucky you!

I once had a DON who asked me if I wanted to learn everything there was to learn about LTC. I told her that I did. She took the time to train me in every area of LTC seeing how she had actually started out in dietary, then CNA, LPN, RN and finally obtained her administrators license. She died of a heart attack at the age of 40. But because of her and what she taught me, I did not stop until I had my administrator's license as well. For the record, I am an LPN and I am currently working as an administrator and on my degree in healthcare administration.
