Are there nursing schools that will approve 6 months lvn work experience to apply for a bridge program instead of the one year work experience?

Most schools list the amount of work hours, because full time/part time/contingent all differ. If you're contingent and only work 1 day a week you would not have nearly as much experience as someone that works 32+ hours per week.

I would check with the schools you are interested in.

Thanks. I have seen other schools outside of california offer atleast 6 months fulltime experiencee and be eligible for the bridge program where as in california its one year experience minimum. It seems like some schools outside of CA are somewhat flexible

I'm in Michigan. I've seen 1500 hours on a few school's websites (about 37 weeks full time).

Thanks. That is an average of 9 months work experience required. I hope to find a school that request 6 months

Confirming this... I'm in upstate NY and after my LPN program I'm hoping to get right into the RN program at my local community college. The admissions page lists nothing about work experience and only an active LPN license.

Which schools here in Cali require a year of experience Not Carrington, not Uophx, not sac city college....

Yes, they are in northern CA. I'm sorry to hear it's so much harder in So Cal.

Do you also have to complete a bunch of prereqs? Out here, the private schools allow you to work while completing the prereqs. I have friends at Carrington who go to class 1-2 nights per week. Completing the prereqs are the other big hurdle to getting into bridge programs up here.
