I need some ideas on what programs are the fastest, easiest, and cheapest. I am an LPN and have no prereqs done at all. Help!!! Btw I live in Georgia.

I did my LPN-ASN at a community college and it cost me less than $4,000 I now make just over $5,000 per month as an RN. That program was only a year long, but that was bc I had bee. Out of school greater than 2 years while those that had gone back sooner didn't have to take a refresher class and got it done in 6 months.

My RN to BSN is looking to be around $12,000

When I was looking at LPN to BSN it was going to be between $20,000 and $45,000 and about 3 years of schooling. I'd have also had to retake the majority of my LPN classes which really put me off.

Hi I was just wondering which school did you went to for the LPN to RN bridge program? I'm currently looking but seems like I've missed all the deadlines :( btw I live in Georgia.

I did Excelsior College back in 2009-2010. It was and, for the moment, still is exam-based which means you can go at your own pace. But as of July 2015, you will have to be registered for all of them and have them successfully completed by the end of that year if you want those credits to count. Otherwise, you will be in an online, 16-week program for each course. If you are a quick, self-motivated, independent study, the July-December 2015 deadline can be met. If not, you can still do the program online but if self-study is not your cup of tea, don't even bother. I also did their RN-BSN program and just finished August 17, 2014. I found it to be very easy and informative. But it is for RNs only (no direct LPN-BSN option). It doesn't take 4 years to complete. It took me four calendar years because I only took sporadic courses and/or exams infrequently since the end of 2010 including an entire year of doing absolutely nothing education-wise.

I completed an LPN-to-RN (ASN) degree program at a school that admitted students who hadn't completed any prerequisite courses. The program was arranged to allow students to complete the prerequisite classes as corequisites at the beginning, before the nursing coursework began.

The only admissions requirements were proof of an active LPN license, a recent physical exam, and a passing score on the NET test, which was the entrance exam used by the school's nursing program at that time.

How do you search for schools like the one you attended?

I crossed state lines to attend this school. These 'lenient' schools tend to be in parts of the country where nursing is not really an impacted major or in demand.

For instance, Murray State College is a community college in rural Oklahoma that offers an ASN program that leads to RN licensure. The only prerequisite is one year of high school chemistry or one semester (3 credits) of college level chemistry.

I see. thank you
