I was wondering if anyone here can help me. I purchased the whole cirriculum for Excelsior's associates in nursing degree program from the College Network and I am discovering that I just don't have the time to devote to it, I have one kid in college now and one will be there next year and I'll have to work a lot to help get them through--and I need to sell this whole package. Does anyone have any ideas as to where to go to sell it? I've thought of Ebay but would like at least half or so of what I paid and I don't know how that would go over there. Thanks.

i can tell you that the study guides are selling for about $50 a piece over on ebay. you can try the yahoo study groups but i would imagine you are going to loose a lot of money. if i were you i would keep them and see if i could use them later..

I am doing excelsior with two friends from nursing school. Right now we are taking a prerequisite for Microbiology. The requirments change Oct. 1 but I think for the better. Instead of 7 4 credit exams there are 8 3 credit exams. If you have your LPN you do not have to take exam 2. There will be also the addition of 3 interactive skills test on the computer and the usual CPNE. I think these changes are for the better. I know some of the concern about excelsior was about the lack of skills information and this will help with that. About the enrollment fee. You do not have to pay that until you take NC3. So if you want to take any prerequisites and then NC1 you can do that BEFORE you enroll. That is what we are doing. I think the first couple of exams will be the hardest just trying to figure out what they want and how to manage your study time. Because of this, you don't want to enroll right away because there is a fee every year you are in the program that you don't finish (I am not sure what it is but I think $300 or so). Also, we are getting our books from the excelsior bookstore and ebay. I think there are quite a few companies that will advertise that they are study program but you still have to pay all of the excelsior fees with that so it ends up being more money. The excelsior stuff is more than enough to get you through. Hope that helps!

Does anyone know if Excelsior offers tutoring for the clincal skills assessment test? Not a online or book tutor. A real class. Is there any private tutors???

there are several places that offer this type of thing. you can go to the ec website and get the info about their seminar. it is around $700-800 and it is between 3-7 days . try and look up lynns workshop (cpne solutions i think) hers is more reasonably priced. i think lynn will also privately tutor.

I have been looking into EC and one thing that I am still confused on is how do you do your clinicals!?! I know there is a clinical examination the CPNE but a book can't give you everything to know to prepare for it. Can anybody help me figure this out? Thanks:typing

I graduated from EC a few years ago (LPN-RN). When you are ready for the CPNE, EC will send you a huge study guide to prepare for it. It is very thorough. I highly recommend the CPNE video too, and if you're especially nervous about it all, you might want to look into doing the CPNE practice seminar. I hear Chancellors is a great one. I believe it's in Indiana, for those in that area.

There were some EC student groups on Yahoo. I don't know if any of them are around any more, but it's worth looking into. The best thing you can do is group up with other EC students, and "study" together.

Good luck- I was very happy with the program.

I read in their brochure, that they will be Title IV financial aid
qualifying as of 2007-2008--meaning you can get financial aid for
attending there...but the code they listed is not valid, and also they don't show up on the code list at FAFSA website.

Does anyone know the deal on that?

hi, I just heard Excelsior would be Title IV next year too, I cannot explain this for you, but I do know if you call them, they are very helpful. j
