  3. My heart goes out to you,you must have a call or you wouldn't be in the profession. realize nursing is a passion in your passion develop compassion for others those psych/junkie paients, deserve to be treated with dignity regardless of our personal feelings, I don't know about you but, when I acceepted my call to nursing I accepted caring for people and there was no guarntee of the type of people/paitient. I have found in my 18 years as an LPN heart felt learning and growing experiences which have motivated me to advance my education that I might continue to make a differnce in the lives of the people I take care of as well as the people I work with when it's in your heart the rest will follow in every season there are lessons embrace them and what you have need of will begin to flow
  4. It's been 18 years for me I've been going back to school as well. Well now it is happening, I'm taking preq's on line started out with UOP and I am trasfering to EduKan to finish. I am new to allnurses.com and I'm simply loving it. There is a wealth of information on this site. I found out about EduKan it's a very resonably priced school for getting prereq's completed. Plan is then to move forward with E.C. for the LPN -RN bridge program :balloons: Please feel free to contact me we can keep one another motivated. Everyone needs a little nudge every now and then and mabe an encouraging word Until then Ramelle north Ga

  10. Dont' give up, I'm just getting started so I don't need to here I'm giveing up your acomplishment is my motivation. Pick yourself up by the boot strap and march on look how far you have come opposed to how much more I have left. It depends on how you look at the situation, is the class half full or is the glass half empty? I look at your glass as half full,( just an opinion) so put it on ice and chill it! when your done kick your heals up and shout be proud of the example you are setting for others to know that if you can accomplish we I can to. It might be a present struggle but the future benifit far out weighs the current circumstance. 18 year LPN returning to school, in prereq stage. YOU CAN DO THIS HANG IN THERE :balloons:

  12. 7/26/07 Hey, my name is Ramelle I'm 46 Iv'e been an LPN for 18 yrs. Most of my career has been LTC. The past 4 years in assisted living as a wellness nurse, healthcare coordinator and now as an ED. I love this area of care it's health care with twist of hopitality. it is challenging, yet very rewarding. I just starting working on pre-reqs and I'm looking forward to becoming an RN. as an LPN we all know we can do the job but not having that piece of paper is no respect from others and much less pay. My hat is off to all who have gone through and made it. My hat is off to those of us who are going throgh and to those considering the challenge go for it.
  13. Please share your experience with College Network
