Hi! I started my LPN program January 22, 2008.....and will graduate December 19, 2008.

We finished A&P, Nursing Concepts, Infection Control, Basic & Advanced Skills, Gerontology, took our Medical Math exam that we needed to pass with a 100%...and we're now right in the middle of the Nursing Process in the a.m.'s with our first clinical rotation in the p.m. We start Pharmacology & Med/Surg real soon. Things are getting even more intense than before, and my stress level has increased 1000x in the past week, but I'm trying to stay focused.

Good luck in your school....we can do it!

and

I am taking my exit exam June 5th!! :bowingpur

Needless to say, its going great :) knowing I am mearly some days before I graduate. Then again, getting a bit weirded out knowing that in less than a month, I'll be turned loose as a graduate nurse :lol2:

Hi, eveyone I just started my lpn program april 29th 2008 it has only been two weeks and this is no game. we ulready had 3 tests. we started off with A&P, nursing fundamentals, and professional awareness, we also had to take another math assessment test at orientation if if we failed that we have a learnscape navigation program to help us get ready for med math and pharmacology crazy huh, we just had another A&P test on thursday(think i did well) we don't start our first clinical rotation until aug 3rd until then we practice in our lab at school that is actually set up like a hospital room with dummy patients that have body fluids I though it was pretty cool lol.....:anpom:so far I know its is hard guys but we can do it that license is worth it. Does any body else wear uniforms we have to wear all white to class and clinicals?:nurse:

our uniforms are royal blue, our lab is set up like a hospital also we have 14 or so beds with dummies, mock oxygen and suction, body fluids also, we also have a dummy that has many different lung sounds!! and one that gives birth.. it's pretty cool

Specializes in LTC & Correctional Nursing.

I started July 11, 2007. I am set to graduate October 1st. My final check off date is Sept 10th though. :yeah: It has gone really well so far but I am really feelin the push now. I have managed to stay on the Dean's List the whole time and the best advice I can give is to be very careful and triple check everything that you do. Good luck to you all!

Specializes in Former MA and NA, now an LPN student.

I started on April 21st 2008... this program goes until April 09. We're halfway through our first "term" out of 6. I'm taking Foundations of Nursing I and Nutrition. Things are going great! There is a TON of material to learn, so it is a rarity to come home with "nothing to do". I've really had to budget my time wisely. I have an A average in my classes so far, and I hope I can keep that up! :)

Our lab sounds like what some of you have described - like a hospital with dummies.

We have clinicals once per week. So far we really haven't "done" anything as far as patient care goes, but we have learned the layout of the floor we're assigned to, the e-charting system, and infection control. This week we're getting to do bedmaking, ROM and restraints.

Our uniforms are royal blue tops and white bottoms with the optional white warmup jacket or labcoat. I could do without white pants, but I can't complain too much.

I'm already shocked at how fast this is moving. We wrap up this "term" after the first week of June and move to the next. Then I'll be in Foundations of Nursing II and pharmacology with 2 clinical days per week instead of one.

Good luck to all!

Started August 2007 and graduate August 2008. We have finished off all of the subjects except for Med. Surg. 2 and Adv. PVR. One thing I have learned while in NS is when your instructors tell you at the beginning of the class that in time it will get easier...don't believe them. For the students who are just starting out Good Luck and study hard it WILL pay off in the end, you will soon learn, if you already haven't, that while in NS you will get no rest :smilecoffeeIlovecof, no time to yourself which of course equals no social life, but you will also get the opportunity to make a difference in peoples lives in the way that no other occupation really can. :nurse:

I started Jan 10 and finish around the second week of December.

I took A and P before I started my program. This left Pharmacology, completed spring semester, Fundamentals, and Role fo the LPN. ALL done!

This summer, Med-Surg. Family Med and Maternal/Peds in the Fall. Also, taking online nutrition this summer since didn't take it before started program.

Specializes in Coronary Rehab Unit.

Hmmmm, let's see.....

.... started just a few weeks ago, April 28th

.... so far, so good

....graduate end of March '09.

People are stressing out already over a couple of the tests we've had so far, I'm just relaxing and taking it as it comes - if this old man can handle it, these "kids" should be able to as well ;) I don't want to say it's been easy so far, but...it's been relatively easy so far:lol2: ...heh..., but of course, we've just scratched the surface. Beings that it's been almost 30 years since I've been in a school setting, this shall be quite the journey

Good luck to one and all......

Specializes in Nursing student...graduation 6/28 7pm!!!.

Hi guys!

Well, I started 9/5/07 and our last day of classes is 6/20/08...only a month and 5 days to go!!! We have had A&P, Fundamentals, Nutrition, Pharm, Mental Health, we are almost done with Med/Surg and Maternal/Child. Let me tell you, it is stressful and intense but SO worth it. I live in an area where we have snow, and we had 5 snow days this past winter, so they are cramming the info in so we can make it by 6/20!!!

The best advice I can give everyone is to stick with it. It really does all come together at one point or another, and also to keep studying until the very end.

Best of luck to everyone here...congratulations on your first step in becoming a nurse!!!
